Ashlynn

Beej & Chris

Ashlynn has been talking and interacting so much lately. The kids love seeing her say "Swim suit" especially since it usually comes out as "Swim poop". She wants to do everything the same as her brother and sister. If they have a crouton with salad she wants a crouton with salad- NO exceptions. We can usually get away with giving her a sippy cup, but sometimes she insists on having a big kid cup like Kaylee and Connor.

Today when I was talking to Connor whether or not he wanted to come with me to the store. Ashlynn immediately raised her hand and said "I come! I come!". She will go get her shoes and put her binky or blanky into her bed if we ask her to. As soon as we come inside she walks over to her shoe bin in the mudroom and puts her shoes away. She will sit and start taking her shoes off in the middle of the floor right as everyone is walking inside but she doesn't care. ha ha

I was folding laundry today and she said "I help!". So I told her that we were going to sort the clothes in piles. She grabbed her dress and yelled "Pile!" and put it in a clump on the floor. It was so cute. Then after I had finished sorting the laundry and made piles and had them folded and ready to be hung on a hanger. I found Ashlynn with her clothes pile carrying it around. It ended up landed on Connor's bed in a big pile of mess; but to Ashlynn it wasn't messy at all.

Ashlynn's favorite thing to help with is the dishes. I open the dishwasher and take out the sharp knives and then let her go to town. She will stack all the plates and then say "help" and wait for me to lift her up to the cupboard where she will set the plates down in the correct place. She also loves to move the wet clothes from the washer to the dryer and then push the button to start the dryer.

One thing I did with Kaylee and I believe Connor was after we brushed teeth before bed we would always stick our tongue out or make silly faces in the bathroom mirror. Ashlynn and I have been doing this lately. It is my favorite. I love how silly they can be.

FHE "The good samaritan skit"

Beej & Chris

We invited our neighbor Sharon Bangerter who just recently lost her husband, as well as Paige & Phil Bangerter and their kids to join us for a FHE lesson over at our house. For the lesson the kids put on a skit and involved all the kids. They acted out the "Good Samaritan" from the scriptures.
They even got dad involved

We had a good time catching up with the neighbors and getting to know Sharon a little more.
Here are a few random fun adventures we have had with the kids.
We got King of the Hill passes at Cherry Hill this year, and the kids always had a blast playing miniature golf.

Kaylee trying on shoes for school

Eating some yummy open face sandwiches. A must have for a summer meal. Kaylee loves fresh tomatoes along with her mama.

I had a serious craving for some funeral potaotes; so we made some ham, homemade rolls and funeral potatoes. Yum!

The kids running around in the summer rain outside. Summer showers are the best!

Before and After flowers

Beej & Chris

I wanted to take a few pictures of the flowers and plants we planted at the beginning of the summer and at the end to see how it transforms.

Here is the before....

Now here is the after. The sweet potato vines definitely grow like crazy and bring a lot of color. There were some flowers I liked and some I didn't love and wont use again. I'm definitely not an expert in flowers, so this will be a trial and error for a few years until we figure it out. I figure we will just keep slowly adding perennials over the years and end up with just a few annuals that add a pop of color. But until then, we have a lot of annuals.
