Selfish Cuddling

Beej & Chris

Today was a pretty good day. I dropped Kaylee off to my friend Challae's house at 8:20 am and then ran did a few diabetic visits for work and came back to get Kaylee at 9:45 am. I then took her home and she went down for her morning 2 hour nap. I got a few things done around the house and finished up my Halloween costume and FINALLY she woke up. We then layed on the couch together and played Peek-A-Boo together for a good half hour. KAYLEE loves it and I love playing with her. I hide behind a pillow and she will sneak her little face around the pillow and then give me the biggest grin. I just laugh and yell Peek-A-Boo Kaylee!! She just giggles. It is now her favorite game. In fact she plays it in the car all the time....especially when she gets tired. It is the cutest thing to look back in the mirror and see her hide under the blanket and then poke her little head out. It is probably not the best game for me to play while I am driving because I can't help but to keep looking at her in the rear view mirror. But it is soo cute- especially when she just giggles in her high pitched squeal. Well I got off subject here....

Kaylee then ate some lunch and then I put her in the tub. Usually I give Kaylee her bath at nightime but I knew tonight I was going to be busy and BJ was planning on taking Kaylee grocery shopping with him so I figured I would just do it now. Kaylee really likes playing in the bath. She also really likes to STAND up in the bathtub- which is always fun ;)

After bathtime we had some quiet time. I could tell she was getting tired but not quite tired enough to put into bed (I hate hearing her cry and she cries when it is too early or past her bedtime) so I put her in her swing and put in her baby einstein. It wasn't very long before I saw her droopy eyes getting heavier and heavier. Kaylee then went down for yet another nap. I then got on the computer and messed around...wasting time pretty much. I got my scripture reading done and then started reading a few magazines when Kaylee woke up.

As soon as Kaylee woke up I packed her into the car and drove back to my friend Challae's house so I could go do two more visits for work. I then went and picked Kaylee up and called BJ to get a few things ready because I was going to have to head straight to Pack Meeting for Cub Scouts. I ran home and handed Kaylee off to BJ and quickly got dressed for my meeting.

When I got home- Kaylee and BJ weren't home yet. So I finished a few things for work and then waited till they got home. I gave Kaylee her bottle and read to her for a few minutes and then put her to bed.

I put her to bed. :( I could tell she was so tired and even though I really wanted to play with her I let her go to sleep.

Well at 10:00pm all I wanted to do was go pick Kaylee up and cuddle with her. BJ was out playing Basketball with some of his neighborhood buddies and Kaylee had been asleep for a few hours. But all I wanted to do was just cuddle with her...so that is exactly what I did!

I opened the door and quickly picked her up and brought her to bed with me. She fell right back asleep. Well since I move a lot..she kept waking up. It was dark in our room so she kept using her fingers to touch my face but after awhile she started pushing me and letting me know she was tired and wanted to go back to bed. It took me a bit to give in but I just held her for awhile and rocked with her in her room and then put her back to bed.

I know that it was selfish cuddling but I couldn't help myself. I love Kaylee so much! I know it seems like I was home with Kaylee all day but too me those few hours that I had Challae watch Kaylee and the time I left her to go to Pack Meeting were FOREVER long. I missed her. I am so used to being with Kaylee all the time that I just miss her anytime we are apart. I know this may sound wierd to some but Kaylee seriously is one of my best friends.

I like working as a RN but truly- I would be so content...actually..soo very happy to just be home with my sweet little Kaylee Bean full time! I mean- how great is it being a Mom!?!

Deal yo!

BJ

This is BJ, just wanted to post the latest deal:

Since halloween is coming around, I decided we should spend $2.25 for all of the above!

Well, you have to take into account my first candy shopping spree where I spent just under $25 - since that gave me the ability to not spend any money the next time!
Regardless, $27 to help make those kids teeth rot (and our own!) is great

You should have seen the people in the store -
"You got $50 worth of stuff for free!?"  "Did your wife teach you?"
Something like that  :)

Happy Dealing!

Lunch with friends from work

Beej & Chris

Tina volunteered to watch the girls while Challae and I got food. They both kept trying to wiggle out of her arms.

Yummy crackers

Since Challae and I work together we take turns watching each others sweet girl. Kaylee loves it when Brinlee comes to play! (notice all the toys are on Kaylee's side. She is still working on sharing and not taking all the toys away from Brinlee)

7 months +

Beej & Chris

Kaylee is now 7 1/2 months and I meant to post pictures and updates of her when she was 7 months but was waiting to get some more updated pictures.
Kaylee is crawling everywhere and getting into everything. Last night we caught her eating something. BJ pulled a piece of bark..yes BARK out of her mouth. Where did she find bark? Who knows. It was soo tiny one of us must have tracked it inside with our shoes. I vacuum and clean but she will find the tiniest piece of paper or crumb and stick it in her mouth.

Which brings me right into her appetite. Kaylee wants to eat whatever mom and dad are having.. even if she just ate herself. She has tried top ramen noodles, peaches, rice, tomatoes (she loves tomatoes), a few tastes of a lemon and lime, applesauce, spaghettio's, pancakes, and egg yokes. We still give her baby food but are slowly transitioning her to the food we have, just in small pieces or mashed up. Kaylee still hasn't tried chocolate or big amounts of dairy- and with my allergies she probably wont until she is a year. I am so excited to give her a chocolate cake for her 1st birthday! I am still breastfeeding her but only in the morning and night. She was biting for awhile so I pumped without breastfeeding her for two weeks. She is better now and I am enjoying that time with her instead of being scared she is going to bite me.

Kaylee's favorite toys are the small shampoo bottle, a little small purple stress ball I got in nursing school, and anything that makes noise.

Kaylee is enjoying books more and more. She will just sit there while we read book after book to her. BJ and I both have "Goodnight moon" memorized. We just got a "peek-a-boo" book that she loves.

The stairs have been a big enjoyment for Kaylee. She will crawl right over to the stairs and then turn around and wait to see us come to get her and then make a run or "crawl" for it- as fast as she can. Ya- she knows what she is doing...little stinker. And her favorite thing to do is stand on the tv stand and push on the tv. I will tell her "no..no Kaylee" and she looks at me and waves her hand at me and smiles and then does it again. She is starting to understand more and more the word "no" but most of the time she thinks it is game.

Nap time has been wonderful. She takes a good 2- 2 1/2 hour nap at least once a day. Most of the time she will just go right down for a nap without a peep. Every once in awhile she will cry for a little bit but she is used to the routine. I lay her on her tummy and turn on her music and she goes right to sleep. After she wakes up from the long nap she will just laugh and play in her crib. It is so cute to listen to.

Kaylee has two teeth on bottom and two teeth on top that are almost all the way through. But I think she is getting even more on top...baby Tylenol here we come :)

I think that pretty much covers the update. BJ and I are really enjoying being parents and especially to such a smart cute little girl. We love her so much. At night when we are driving home and Kaylee falls asleep we fight over who gets to carry Kaylee to bed. When you pick her up she just snuggles right into your shoulder. It is just so precious. We love you Kaylee!
