Many people ask me how the transition from 2 to 3 kids has been....and the answer is HORRIBLE.. Ha ha jk, but seriously it has been quite the transition for me. I remember thinking while I was pregnant with Ashlynn "My kids are older, and it is just one more kid". I seriously thought it was going to be no big deal.
It is just really difficult spreading my time evenly between each of my kids and having time for BJ. I just don't want to miss anything! I find that if I am busy doing something (cleaning, working on house stuff, or on my phone) than I have a lot less patience with the kids and tend to miss out on good opportunities with them. So that is something I have been working on, but it definitely takes practice.
Connor and Kaylee were sitting next to each other and kept fighting, so Connor got put in the back of the car for half the day. It was pure torture lol
We borrowed this swing from my good friend Ashley. Ashlynn loves it!! In those times that I need more hands- this is where Ashlynn goes. :D
Usually by the end of the night BJ and I watch a little tv and then crash. But one night I convinced BJ to play a game with me. We then ended up playing this game "takeneko" a few more times at night...until BJ kept beating me ha ha He is just too good to play with ;)
The first time I took all three kids grocery shopping
I am learning that the more easy going I am, the kinder and easier it is to do things with all the kids. Hence, Kaylee and Connor measuring goldfish in the picture below. They ended up measuring everything they could get their hands on. I let them push the mini cart while I pushed the stroller. I probably said "Don't run into me with that cart" a million times ha ha. Man those things hurt when they run into the back of your legs. I know, because despite telling them not to do it- it happens several times a trip.
The trip went ok. I forgot many things on the list and almost lost Connor during the trip, but the worst part was trying to carry it upstairs to our apartment. You sometimes don't realize what an amazing blessing it is to have a house for simple things like grocery shopping...until you don't have a house.
We went to a movie as a family and I ran into one of my BEST friends growing up (Brittney Wall) at the theater. As I was putting the kids in the car, I saw my crazy hair in the car window. How embarrassing
Ashlynn making a mess while I was breastfeeding in the car. The other kids went with dad to look in Shopko. Ever since we moved into the apartment and have had Ashlynn, I find myself nursing a lot more in the car than I did with the other kids.
We LOVE going to the Castle Park in Kaysville. The kids favorite is when I chase them and put them in "jail". They have to stay there until someone else touches them so they can get out. Its definitely a lot more difficult to play this with Ashlynn, but once she is a little older I am sure she will love it just as much as Kaylee and Connor.
Kaylee showing off one of her food allergies. We think we know all of her allergies and then she has another reaction that throws us off. Darn allergies.
The kids LOVE to hold Ashlynn's hand or play with her, and they can get her to laugh more than anyone. Sibling love is the best!
LOVE being a mom to these cute little munchkins
