Neighbor note about weeds/Fun in the Rain

Beej & Chris

I found this lovely note in my mailbox one morning. My first thought was embarrassment, and then it was frustration that they would leave a note and not tell me in person and then I just laughed about it.
I have two kids, I work once a week as a nurse, and I am pregnant. Sure I have time to weed...but my time is spent with my kids. We have been enjoying this summer with swimming, going to the park, building tents, and just playing out on our trampoline. The weeds were never on my mind.

To make light of the situation I put up a sign my Great Grandma Byington used to have in front of her house where her fake flowers were....it says "Grow Dammit"
Some of my neighbors commented on how mean whoever left the note was, but most just laughed about the situation with me. We then had a neighbor sneakily come and weed them all for us that night without us knowing. We have a pretty great neighborhood and some great friends here.
Speaking of playing with my kids.... One rainy day, the kids were in the playroom entertaining themselves (doesn't happen very often ha ha- but more than it used to), when I came in to check on them. They had put the Dora tent inside the crib. Initially I thought that I should get the tent out and let them know it is for the baby and they are too big to play in there, but I loved how creative they were and sometimes you just have to pretend to not see them and let their contagious giggles of laughter continue as you sneak back out of the room....this was one of those cases ;)
Connor wanted to go outside and play in the rain. I went and got Kaylee's boots (which are still a little big on her) and Connor quickly confiscated them and put them on.
Kaylee's friend Sydney came over to play. We all got boots and jackets on and splashed in puddles all the way back to Sydney's house.

I convinced Connor to wear Kaylee's old pink boots that don't fit her anymore so Kaylee could wear the other boots.

Nothing like "Splashing in Muddy Puddles" as the kids call it

Bear Lake - Camping with Friends

BJ

Our neighbors Jamie and Mike Scott invited us along with another family in the ward (Shirley's) to go camping near Bear Lake. I was scheduled to work that Friday they were planning on leaving, but another nurse was willing to switch with me so we could join in on the fun.

Hanging out with the kids while BJ was setting up the tent in the heat. I kept trying to help, but he figured it would be better if one of us were watching the kids since their was water nearby and since I was the pregnant one I got voted to sit.

Walking around checking out all the campsites nearby.
The boys setting up their tents
After setting up camp and getting all hot and sweaty, we decided to head to the Lake to cool down.

Later on we went to the Minnetonka Cave to explore

The Cave had A LOT of stairs and walking, and BJ and I each ended up holding a kid most of the time...but it was still a neat experience.

It was pretty cold inside the cave and Kaylee kept complaining, so she ended up with my jacket for the walk back. But by the time we got outside of the cave everyone had their jackets off due to the heat.

Alana's birthday/Fireworks with Pumpkin and Grandma

BJ

After the big SLC Pioneer Parade we came home for lunch and naps...and then headed over to Kangaroo Zoo for cousin Alana's birthday party.

The kids had a great time. BJ then came in with a balloon and a present for his sister JQ's birthday.

 What a good brother ;)
We then joined them at McDonalds to open presents, eat dinner, and have cake!

THEN.....after McDonald's we ran over to Grandma Scott's and Pumpkins for FIREWORKS!

I love how much Desiree and Kaylee LOVE each other

Grandma helping cover Desiree's ears while Alexa covers her eyes ha ha. Alexa kept covering her eyes and we think she meant to cover her ears, it was so cute.
All the kids loved the sparklers

Angela and her boyfriend Brad bought fireworks and added those to the fireworks that we did that night so we had a lot to watch. It was fun

This was before the firework show, Pumpkin went out and set up spots for everyone and sat there waiting until it started ha ha

It was a busy day, but we had a great time with family and friends!
