LAST DAY of our amazing family vacation
One of the biggest benefits of having a kitchen in the hotel was we got to make whatever we wanted whenever we wanted. We had pancakes one morning, frozen burritos or cereal for snacks and even frozen yogurt for the kids when we went to theme parks. It was perfect for a pregnant mamma. ;)
BJ was so kind to find the grocery store on the first night while the kids and I crashed. It was pretty stressful for him to find the grocery store and get everything, but we all appreciated it soo much. Thanks dad!
We just loved our hotel for the trip. It had an amazing view of the water. We were on the main floor that had a walk out sliding glass door that the kids loved. They begged to eat their breakfast outside every morning. One of their favorite things to do was to feed the ducks that came right up next to them each morning.
For our last day in San Diego we decided to have a BEACH DAY! It was one of my favorite days of the trip. We packed up snacks and lunches and headed out to La Jolla beach.

The hardest part about flying to San Diego is not having chairs or a good blanket for the beach. It was hard not to get all our food sandy and gross, but we made it work. It helped that the kids didn't complain if their pepperoni's had a little sand taste to them ;)
BJ would take turns taking the kids out to play in the water with him, while the other would play in the sand with me.
We rented out a 'boogie board' for a few hours and took turns going out on it. Yes, being 6 1/2 months pregnant I still went out to play. I definitely couldn't stay out long before I was winded and tired, so I took a lot of breaks. But it was SO SO FUN! I loved it!
After BJ and I took it out for a bit, BJ would take turns taking the kids out to "ride" on it while he pulled it along.
Connor was soo tired. I thought for sure he was going to crash on the sand, but he never ended up falling asleep despite my many attempts to get him to.

That evening we went out to the most amazing Mexican restaurant. With all the swimming we were all starving and the chips and salsa and yummy food totally hit the spot. We then went on the free Bahia Bell boat ride that left from our hotel and went across the water to another hotel and back again. They of course tried to sell us food and drinks, but it was a really short ride and we had already eaten so we just enjoyed the view.

The kids "enjoyed the view" for about 10 minutes, and then they entertained themselves as we sailed. They found another little toddler boy that joined in on their fun here and there as well.
The next morning we had to get the kids up pretty early to get to the airport. We were worried about traffic and the time it would take to return our rental car. When we got to the rental car place, they were so kind and offered to let the kids stay in their car seats and drove us to the airport without us having to even move our luggage. Needless to say we ended up at the hotel a lot earlier than needed...but the kids did pretty good despite it all.
Yes, Connor's orange golf ball made it on the trip and back home ha ha
Papa Bruce picked us up for the airport. We all ran inside and changed into our church clothes and headed as quickly as we could to go see Carson's baptism. Then that night Grandma Scott came with me to see the Women's broadcast. It was such a busy and exhausting day! But we made it and had a great time!
