Womens Conference

Beej & Chris

I got the amazing opportunity to go to Women's Conference with my aunts this year- while my more then amazing husband took two days off of work and stayed home to watch the kids. It was such a perfect little vacation!

For those of you that don't know- my mom's maiden name is Parker so I of course couldn't pass the opportunity to take a picture of a sign that had the name PARKER'S Drive-In on it.
Pictured is Candice on the left (Becky's former friend..."former" because I stole her away ha ha jk) and then my Aunt Jamie and Aunt Becky.
To the left is my Aunt Trudi and then my always smiling Aunt Kerrie
 My Aunt Amy and I

I was still breastfeeding at this time so I had to get creative in places I could pump. This place happened to be in the locker room and was actually by far the best place because it had a seat and a plug right next to it. I took a picture to remember how Candice (remember my new friend I stole from my Aunt Becky ;D) first suggested having me pump in between the pop machines in a little hallway. Yeah that wouldn't have been awkward with the guy buying soda standing right there ha ha good times

I know I am missing so much from this trip but there is just too much to write about. The classes were fun and uplifting but I think my all time favorite thing was the concert the last day. Michael McLean, Hillary Weeks as well as a few other well known singers. It was an amazing concert!

 Can't wait till NEXT YEAR!!!

Carpet Stretching and Cleaning

Beej & Chris

In preparation to selling our home we payed someone to come and stretch our carpet in the hallway, kids bedroom, and our bedroom. We had to have is stretched because when the built our house and layed the carpet they didn't secure it correctly so it had a lot of ripples in it and would just continue to get worse if we didn't do anything about it. Naptimes were an adventure to say the least...but in the end I am glad we got it done.
And since we had everything moved I decided to take on cleaning all the carpets as well. ha ha Silly me. But once again- I am glad we did it despite all the time and hard work it took.

Beej & Chris

Today was a bad mommy day. Not bad...horrible. I lost my temper on more than one occasion. I yelled- I was mean to my daughter.
Tonight after I got home from a relief society I went in to kiss my daughter goodnight and just burst into tears. She was sleeping so soundly in her bed- so innocent and pure. I love her soo much. Why do I lose my patience with a child who is so close to the savior- with someone who is learning and growing and striving her best to be like Jesus?! I couldn't whisper sorry to her enough. She was sooo out of it she looked at me a few times but I am pretty sure she wont even remember me coming in to see her. She probably went to sleep thinking "mommy is upset at me" because I was.
Life is too short. Kiss your kids. Let them get out of bed to cuddle and if they say no to a nap 15 times- tell them it is ok. When they ask for a drink of water right before bed and you know they are probably just trying to find an excuse to get out of bed- let them have a sip, maybe they are thirsty!
I just came back from an amazing relief society meeting with the speaker (Heidi Swinton) who wrote our beloved prophet Thomas S. Monson's autobiography. The spirit was so strong and I learned so much. President Monson studies the Saviors life and by doing so has become like the Savior. I know that is what I need to do.

Making light of the terrible two stage

Beej & Chris

The phrase "terrible two's" has been a big understatement at our house this past week in a half. Kaylee has refused to take a nap and still wakes up every single day at 640am..occasionally even earlier. I wanted to write a few stories down- so hopefully I can laugh about it later ha ha jk

Yesterday I was getting the kids ready to run some errands, handed Connor a graham cracker and told Kaylee "don't take Connor's cracker. Your lunch is on the table. Did you hear me. Don't take Connor's cracker" in which she replied, "ok mommy". I ran upstairs to get my shoes and when I returned I found Connor looking at his hand looking for his cracker, and Kaylee with her mouth full. I said, "Kaylee. I told you not to eat Connor's cracker. That was his!" She quickly removed a crunched up saliva filled cracker out of her mouth and said, "here you go Connor" as she is attempting to put it in his mouth. I don't know how I didn't burst out laughing right in front of her. But I somehow composed myself and quickly turned my head where she couldn't see me smile and then turned back to her and told her firmly next time she needs to listen to mom.

A few days earlier the kids were in the kitchen eating some lunch while I was talking to BJ on the phone for a few minutes in the front room. I looked over to check on them and found Kaylee standing on a chair up next to Connor who was in the high chair. Kaylee had got Connor's antibiotic for his ear infection out of the fridge and somehow opened the child proof seal and dumped it on Connor's tray where he was playing with it with his fingers. I walked over there and my mouth dropped, I said "WHAT happened?? Who did this?" Kaylee quickly pointed to Connor and said, "Connor did it!" WHEN did my daughter not only learn to lie and blame something she did on someone else, but think that quickly on her feet.

Oh the joys of motherhood :D

Nice Sunday Stroll

Beej & Chris

In preparation for BJ's campout with the scouts- we decided to take a small walk/hike one Sunday afternoon. Kaylee was so tired that I wouldn't have be surprised if we had walked longer that she would have fallen asleep on daddy's back.
Connor just relaxed in the stroller- chillin' with mom while daddy and Kaylee hiked farther up the trail. The knee braces help my knees so much- but hiking long distances is still pretty difficult.

Ok so I realized I hadn't taken very many pictures- so these were the last minute attempt to capturing the moment. After the hike we drove around a little bit looking at different houses just for fun :)
