Milwaukee Trip

Beej & Chris

I just realized that I had posted all my pictures of the kids and I's vacation to Milkwaukee on facebook but didn't ever blog about it. Well- I definitely want these memories written down so here is recap of our amazing vacation to see Nina pants.

Not going to lie I was sweatin' pretty heavy as I was waiting to get on our first flight with two kids in tow, but was very grateful that they allowed BJ to help me pass through security and get me to the gate. We didn't have to wait too long to get on the flight but in that time Kaylee said she had to go to the bathroom and had taken off her shoes and socks and was running around right as it was time to board. I quickly got her shoes on and carried them both up to the family line with both carseats attached to my stroller. I was planning on putting both kids in carseats because they had extra room on this flight, but when I got back there and was trying to attach the carseats in with both kids I found it to be pretty difficult. The flight attendants were awesome and helped me set up one while I held Connor and kept Kaylee from running down the isles of the plane, but by the time we had finished I decided not to do the other carseat and the kind flight attendant took it to the front to check it. When I sat down and had both kids buckled in their seats I heaved a big sigh of relief and almost started crying when the kind flight attendant came back and said, "you are doing a great job. I know it is hard". I was so lucky to have such kind staff to help me.

Kaylee's first plane ride! She was "so cited!!"

Connor's first plane ride...he relaxed and took a nap :)

Second plane ride the plane was full so Kaylee rode in the carseat and took a nap while Connor sat with me- and ended up taking a nap in my arms.

Kaylee fell asleep as well for a bit

We had so much fun at Nina, Tanner, and Erick's house. Here are a few things/places we did and went to...

This was at a yummy "pizza place" that was not even a pizza place- it was an all you can eat place but all we ate was pizza :) Their garlic pizza was sooo yummy!

Connor went down the slide and then just layed like this until someone else wanted to go down so I had to get him out. lol silly boy
 Kaylee riding a pony
Connor loves using a fork- and sometimes wont eat unless he has one ha ha

 At the Milwaukee Zoo
 Kaylee- "I wanna touch em'"

For some reason the picture of Connor in the stroller wont upload....but he just chilled in the stroller most of the time because he was so tired.

I love Nina's face- she is such a cute mom!
This was the first room we went in at the zoo. You can get up so close to the birds- there wasn't a cage or net around the birds so it was really cool.

Yeah- pretty much the coolest thing ever! Kaylee, Connor, and I rode on a Camel...that is right a CAMEL. ha ha It was a short ride but I thought it was pretty cool.

Next we went to the pool. They had a fun play set and big areas for kids to play at.

 and then a "sand play"
(dont mind Nina in the background. She is not peeing but rather washing off the sand in the outside shower LOL)

This is what Eric had for lunch...

Okay so Connor is apparently a little ladies man.

ha ha I overheard the girls talking about Connor. They nicknamed him George since they didn't know his name. ha ha It was so funny. They were working on building a really big hole to fill up with water so "George" could sit in it.

This is what Connor was doing for the whole time we were there..
and this is what Connor had for lunch ha ha jk
Both boys enjoyed a lot of sand this vacation. I kept puting Connor's binky in so he wouldn't eat the sand!

This is what all the other boys were doing....

                                                                         Isn't she cute :)

Kaylee had the time of her life here

Next we went to the beach- SO FUN!
he he Love sweet little Eric!

Binky= no eating of the sand

All the kids enjoyed it- especially Kaylee. She would laugh and laugh as we jumped over the waves.

                                                            Burying Kaylee in the sand.

Burying Connor- he almost fell asleep in the process ha ha

all worn out after swimming..
Eric looks so big in this picture- so cute!

Apparently Connor was going through a growth spurt- because he ate and ate and ate at Nina's house.

He ate TWO of these huge watermelons AND then a few MORE pieces of watermelon.

Getting YUMMY custard at Kopps, I will never look at ice cream the same.

The flight home was a little more difficult

First flight...was okay

and then we had a 4 hour layover...

Luckily we found a good spot for the kids to run around and a friend to play with for a bit
this is how we blocked our kids in

This is how Kaylee rode around in the airport. While we were waiting to board the second flight Kaylee was sitting like this on the stroller and dropped her rocks that she picked out at the gift store. I hurried and went to pick them up and the stroller started to come crashing down...luckily someone caught it. I am sure they thought I was a horrible mother for having Kaylee ride there- but I was just doing what I could to manage with both kids so I didn't care. I obviously didn't want the stroller to fall over and love my kids so meh.
Since our layover was so long the kids were over tired and I was hoping they would crash on the plane, but instead the did the opposite and both started crying at the same time. The plane was completely full but I was sitting next to a teenager that was so easy going and didn't mind the occasional kick from Connor and the cries by both kids. BUT we made it and as soon as we got in the car with BJ they both were out like a light. What an adventure! So fun....hard...but totally worth it.
We had SO much fun with Nina, Tanner, and Eric. I didn't get any pictures of Tanner but he was there and so welcoming and kind to us. We couldn't thank them enough for their hospitality. I totally felt at home and had a blast. It was so nice to be a mom along with another amazing mom. Wouldn't it be nice if we lived next door Nina! We miss you guys!
