It's always fun when grandma comes to town...

Beej & Chris

Just yesterday Kaylee was telling me "grandma came. we went and saw the 'Ahminals' (animals). let's go again". She has such a good memory it seriously is amazing to me. She also keeps talking about the day she teased grandma in the store. I have no idea what she is talking about- but she said that phrase everyday for 3 days in a row.
Anyway- here are some pictures of the Aquarium when Grandma Tenney came to town. I didn't get very many pictures while she was here this time- so here are the few I got.

We kept trying to get Kaylee to touch the Sting Ray but it was so deep in the water. We eventually got her to touch it because it came right up to the side where BJ and I were. She didn't love it so much ha ha.

After BJ pushed me to- i touched a Sting Ray as well. But I didn't 'love' it either ha ha
and yes- Connor did as well!

After the Aquarium we headed to a Mexican restaurant. It was delicious!

Connor's birthday party

Beej & Chris

Connor's party started out with a swimming party out in our backyard. It wasn't anything spectacular- but the kids had fun.

Grandma Tenney gave Connor these super cute swimming trunks- but they were to big for him so this picture is all he has worn them so far. But they will be perfect for next summer!!

For the party I decided to do a sandbox theme because Connor loves to play out in the sandbox. Well it slowly changed into a beach theme but same concept.

Here is a picture of the shark I made out of watermelon. You can see the eyes very good because they are from Connor's puff treats and are a tan color. I was going to use blueberries but someone (*cough BJ*) at them.
We made it simple this year and bought pizza from Dominoes. I signed up almost a year ago for this thing called ShopRunner and it gave me a free 1 year trial of free delivery at Dominoes. So we order there a lot more than we used to and it was wonderful because I just had the pizza delivered to the party-it was so nice.
Since I knew the kids were going to be swimming and would be hungry before we ate dinner, I put out these snacks {popcorn in sand pales, sweedish fish, and fishy crackers- see the theme :) }

I failed this year and didn't get a picture of Connor with both BJ and I...bummer

Grandma kisses!!
We even served the cake with a shovel

I wonder where Kaylee gets her silly faces from?
Kaylee sure enjoyed the "snacks" before dinner :)
Sorry these are out of order but no use in changing it now- right? :D

He sure loved the cake
Wedgie....

the cute little boys playin' together
ha ha I love Connor looking away as I blow out his candle

After he had eaten his cake (and he ate a lot of it) he was reaching for the shovel full of cake. I smiled and gave it to him. BJ's brother JC was like "he already had his own cake!" ha ha I said, "yeah but it is his 1st birthday- he can have as much cake as he wants :D
We decorated with pictures of Connor month by month from the day he was born. He surprisingly hasn't changed drastically since he was a little baby.

  1. ha ha I love this face
Oh and after he had his cake, his extra cake from the shovel...he found somebodies leftover ice cream and ate that too. ha ha

This was after he opened his first present. He didn't want me to set it to the side and open more presents- he wanted that toy to play with right now.
We got this fun car at a garage sale. It looks brand new. Both Kaylee and Connor love it

I love this kid! Happy Birthday Connor!!!!
