Connor 6 months

Beej & Chris

I was on the ball this month and got Connor in for his 6month checkup exactly at his 6 month mark. :) I love it when that happens.
Anywho- Connor is doing well. Here are his stats:
Height: 27 1/4 inches------------75%
Weight: 18 lbs--------------------75%
Head: 18 inches------------------90%
He has definitely thinned out a bit (well except for his head :D ). Connor is our picky eater and doesn't like any baby food. We have tried squash, green beans, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, pears, peaches, applesauce (both baby food and homemade), and carrots. He just makes a face and spits it out.
Connor will however eat these rice sticks (I forgot the name but it is pictured below) and meltaways.

All of which (except for the rice) are not supposed to be given until they are older, but he was acting hungry but wouldn't eat anything else. I talked to the pediatrician about this and she suggested dipping his meltaways in baby food, or his toy rattles or anything we can get him to eat. ha ha She also said if all else fails to just start giving him table food with the exception of a few specific foods. We gave him some bread and some peas today. He liked the bread but just spit out the peas over and over again. We then tried making regular oatmeal as opposed to the baby oatmeal with added peaches and he once again made a face and spit it out over and over again. Well, we will just keep trying :)

Connor has been such a happy baby. He smiles at almost anyone that looks at him and smiles at him. He gets "Wow- he is such a happy boy" all the time. I love it! Now all would be right in the world if only he would sleep through the night. On a good night he will go to sleep at 8pm and sleep until 1pm (eat) and then (eat) again at 430. But he is honestly not doing anything consistently when it comes to night time. Some nights he wakes up at 11pm, 1am, 3am. 430 am, and then 6am. We have tried crying it out and he will go longer without eating but he still cries for a good hour or so. Needless to say, we are just doing our best when it comes to the night shift as we call them. BJ usually gets the "first shift" where he tries to give him the binky or re-swaddle him so he goes longer without eating, and then I take the "second shift" or the rest of the night which usually includes a few feedings.
Kaylee on the other hand has become a very deep sleeper with Connor in her room. He cries a lot and most of the time by the time I get in their room to take care of Connor- Kaylee is still asleep on her bed.

Connor is SO fun! He loves to cuddle and be held, but is also content with playing in his saucer or even just laying on the floor next to some toys. He does pretty good with sitting up on his own, but I still have to be close by him so he doesn't face plant.

* Just a week after his 6 months he started scooting on his belly backwards. He gets up on his tippy toes it is so cute! I will have to post a video later on.

4 years!

Beej & Chris

Bj and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary on December 13th! I can't believe it has been 4 years. I still feel like we are in the newlywed stage.

It was my year to plan the activity. We started out by going to Boondocks for $12 buck tuesday! he he It was $12 for unlimited laser tag and all the racing arcade games we wanted (plus a few extra things I can't remember). We then played a few other games with our tokens we had left over from BJ's work party this last summer (you know the one we went to on Connor's due date lol). It seriously was SOO much fun! I felt like such a little kid running around playing laser tag and loving every minute of it! I think we will definitely be going there for a date again!

We then went to Rodizio Grill with the gift cards we received from BJ's musical chairs competition.

There was SOO much meat! For those of you that don't know how it works let me explain. You have a green and red wooden thingy that you use to tell the waiters whether or not you want them to come and offer you meat. Red obviously means no meat and Green means bring on the meat. And when I say "bring on the meat" that is exactly what I mean. They brought bacon covered chicken, sausage, all different kinds of stake, and a few non-meat things like grilled pineapple and tomatoes with parmesean on it. And if that isn't enough food, they have an all you can eat salad bar on top of that that was delicious. I ate a lot more than I thought I would, but not soo much so that I was sick.
BJ told me that he went with friends in high school a few times and they would have contests to see who could eat the most. He said he wouldn't eat anything the next day because of it. ha ha Boys.

Here are our homemade gifts to each other.....

I found this idea on Pinterest. I got a cheap frame and wrote out "I love you because" and stuck it in the frame. Then bought some dry erase markers and an eraser so we could write love notes to each other everyday. Like I said, I still feel like we are in the newlywed stage. It has been a lot of fun!
BJ made this amazing holder for our keys. I love it! We had been hanging our keys up on nails that I had hammered up one time; so this is so much better. He always goes all out with his gifts.

He also blew up a family picture for the front room as well as wrote a poem.

"It's been four years, and still I feel
the way I did before!
When at the altar, we did seal
our love and so much more.

The keys of God's authority
did work on earth that day.
Giving us the possibility,
to skip the great doomsday!

I love you more than words express,
you're everything to me.
My heart is yours, don't you stress,
we've got eternity!"

Mindshare Christmas Party 2011

Beej & Chris

BJ's work family Christmas party at Costco was a lot of fun as always! I especially liked that the Grinch came to visit this year. Breakfast was yummy and shopping was even better :)
Mindshare is just an amazing job and I am beyond grateful that BJ found it!

Kaylee enjoyed doing the "cupcake walk". At first she would walk around in a circle and then she would walk really slow so there was a pile up of kids behind her. ha ha Needless to say she won a cupcake and had fun.

Norman Christmas Party

Annual Christmas Party

To say that Kaylee likes Santa is a huge understatement! It is now January and at least once a day Kaylee says, "Santa coming?" She was in HEAVEN sitting on his lap, as you can see by her facial expression ha ha

She couldn't keep her eyes off of him!

Kaylee definitely stole the spotlight at the party. Here are a few video's...

No matter what we did we couldn't keep her away from Santa. She would hold on to his leg. Pet his beard or coat and constantly go up to him waving or smiling to get his attention (as you saw in the video's). I just loved seeing the magic in her eyes!

Connor on the other hand tried to punch Santa in the face ha ha (not really, but it looks like it in this picture so I had to post it even though it is a little blurry).
Connor actually did pretty good. He was indifferent. He did however really like Santa's beard and had a big handful of it after sitting on his lap. lol

Getting all ready for Christmas

Beej & Chris

We set up the Christmas tree and all the decorations right after Thanksgiving.

Here is the front room before we set up the tree.

While we were getting everything out Kaylee was talking to her dolls
and Connor was hanging out in his toy saucer
This picture just makes me smile :D

I just love how big Connor looks in this picture.

Putting the star on the Christmas tree

Playing with the Nativity set Papa Bruce and Grandma Sherry gave the kids.
I love how Connor has his hand on Kaylee and Kaylee is pushing back onto Connor in this picture. They just love each other soo much it is so cute.

We took a few family video's of us putting on the ornaments on the Christmas tree but they are kind of long so I am not going to upload them here. But it was fun as always. I love the tradition we have (that we got from grandma and grandpa scott) of buying or making a new ornament to represent each year. It is always so fun to go through all the ornaments and remember why we chose them and all the memories that come from each one.
