Nina

Beej & Chris

One of my best friends- Nina is moving to Milwaukee at the end of July and I am so sad. :(

Nina was in BJ and I's ward when we were living at the U of U apartments. We both held callings helping out with Primary Children's hospital and the branch they had at the hospital. However I didn't really know get to know Nina until she got accepted into the nursing program with me at the DATC.

I had applied to Weber and the DATC for the second time and was just praying I would get accepted this time around. I wanted to get into the program soo bad but was also really nervous. I don't have one of those amazing brains that can remember the things I study. It takes me a lot of repetition and studying with other people in order for it to really stick. Well when I heard that Nina was applying to the program as well, I was praying that she would get in so I could have someone I knew and lived close by that I could study with. I was put on the waiting list, so the only way that I would be accepted was if some of the other applicants didn't accept the offer to start the program. I quickly asked Nina if she was accepted or if she was on the waiting list but she wasn't. BJ and I then fasted and prayed that Sunday that if I got accepted that I would be able to make some good friends and have a good support to help me through the program.

I ended up getting accepted and a few days before the program started Nina caught me and told me that she was accepted as well!!!!!! She didn't even know she could get accepted since she wasn't told that she was on the waiting list. BJ and I were over joyed and I tell Nina all the time that she was the answer to our prayer. I will have to write another blog post on how Rachel, Nicole, Julie, and Ashley all became such good friends as well. All of them helped me sooo much in the program and gave me the confidence I needed to finish Nursing school!!

This post isn't a goodbye to Nina but more of a farewell and to let her know how much I appreciate her as well as to help me remember these wonderful memories we have had. Because BJ and I totally plan on visiting the Fullmer's and will hang out with them whenever we can when they come to visit Utah.

Thanks Nina for riding the bus with me to school, for staying up late and studying with me even though I knew you were already ready and weren't nearly as nervous as I was, for quizzing me in the car the whole way to school on test days, for helping me relax by telling hilarious stories and jokes, for sneaking out of class to take walks around DATC just because I couldn't stand to sit and listen to lecture any longer, for notes back and forth during class so we could make it through for another hour, and most of all for being such an amazing friend and one that has been there for everything since we have become friends!

Now for a few pictures of our kiddo's. This is little Eric trying on one of my tie onesies so we could see how it turned out.

Eric trying out Kaylee's bouncer. It takes a real man to look this good in pink!

Kaylee was bouncing Eric...sometimes a little too hard..but I think he enjoyed it nonetheless.

How can you not just LOVE that smile on Eric's face. Nina make sure you keep your blog up to date so we can get our "Eric picture fix" as much as possible! We love you Fullmers and are sure going to miss you guys when you move!!

Ashley's Baby Shower

Beej & Chris

One of my good friends from nursing school- Ashley- is having a baby at the end of July, so we (Rachel, Nina & I) planned a baby shower/girls night out/party for her to celebrate.

We started out by picking up some Cafe Rio for some dinner and ended up just chatting away for awhile before we got to the present opening time. I honestly could talk to these girls for hours and will still have things to talk about for another few hours! We are all at the same time in our lives and just get along together really well. It is always a challenge to find a day that we can all get together (which is why Nicole is missing) but when we do- we always end up laughing and having a ton of fun.

Ashley getting ready to open presents!

Im not quite sure what she is doing with her belly ;)

Father's Day 2011

Beej & Chris

Happy Father's Day BJ!!

I have been trying to capture some of the amazing moments Kaylee has on a daily basis with her amazing daddy, but even with all of these photos I haven't even touched all that he does with Kaylee each and everyday!

Every morning if I am the one to get Kaylee out of her crib she immediately pokes her head around into the office to look for daddy, and then as soon as we get to the bottom of the stairs she is frantically looking for BJ. Kaylee loves to give daddy kisses but not in the morning because she knows that means he is leaving. To help Kaylee not cry at the door as BJ leaves, we run to the front door and watch daddy go bye bye while Kaylee blows kisses and waves goodbye.

It is also very common on a daily basis for Kaylee to find a phone and bring it to me and say "dadda" until we call BJ to talk. Whenever she was totally done in the car and crying, we would call BJ... because daddy always makes things better. BJ would sing to her or just talk, and Kaylee would immediately calm down.

Daddy just knows how to have fun. Who else realizes how much fun it is to put Lego's on your nose.

For a loooong time BJ was the only one that could put Kaylee down for bed just the right way, because she wouldn't make a sound when he left the room. This picture is just from the other night when he cuddled her until she was just about asleep and yep you guessed it- she went right down without a peep.

Every weekend BJ is Kaylee's BEST FRIEND and does everything for her. I almost have to beg to have my turn on the weekends because he just takes great care of her. He is always telling me that I take care of her all week so it is his turn. When she was waking up in the middle of the night and it was on the weekend, BJ was the one up with Kaylee.

Kaylee LOVES slides and kept pointing to this huge slide saying "sly...sly". I am pretty sure he took her down at least 6 times!

BJ is so outgoing and makes everything he does FUN. He is sooo good with kids and is such a fun daddy. Here he is with Kaylee and Discovery Gateway.

Kaylee checking out at the grocery store.

Smelling the flower. This is Kaylee's new favorite thing. She even smells the flowers whenever she sees them in a book. Kaylee is so smart!

A few weekends ago we went to an open out at the local Skypark Airport right by our house.

This was from BJ's birthday May 31st

BJ has read to Kaylee every since she was a few days old and she still loves reading each and every day. I will frequently find Kaylee bringing daddy a "booook booook" on a daily basis. She will hand him the book and get comfortable right on his tummy, and as soon as he finishes she will run go get another book. She would love to hear daddy read (he is very animated) all day long if she could.

Kaylee following her daddy in being one of the biggest Ute fans out there!

Kaylee and BJ both know how to shake their booty!

A pic nic in our front room. Kaylee wants to eat whatever daddy is eating. Here they are sharing a Totino's pizza.

and Popcorn....

I always give BJ a hard time because some of BJ's favorite foods are popcorn, chips, hot dogs, and pizza...and you guessed it....so is Kaylee's. But in all honestly when Kaylee was first learning how to eat bigger food instead of baby food, BJ was always the one that could get Kaylee to eat and try anything!

I know this is a LONG post, but I honestly could go on and on about BJ and what a great Father he is. I feel sooooo blessed each and everyday and I know Kaylee does as well. I know without a doubt that when Connor decides to come join our family in the next couple days (hopefully :D ) that BJ will just continue to amaze me with what a great Father he is. I love you BJ!!

Swimming

Beej & Chris

It was finally warm enough to go swimming last week. So BJ and I set up the pool and finished weeding outside while Kaylee was taking her nap. We thought it was just perfect because the sun would warm up the pool and the water would be at just the right temperature. Unfortunately by the time Kaylee woke up from her nap, the clouds were covering the sun and it started to cool down quite a bit. Kaylee is tough though and still ended up having fun in the pool with her amazing daddy! Here are some pictures....

"Daddy that is not a pillow! That is my toy"

Don't ya just love her "after nap hair" :)

"Let me just blow this back up. Daddy deflated it when he was laying on it"

BJ taking a little nap in the pool

And this is what I did while they swam. My knees were pretty sore after weeding and being on my feet all day so I just took it easy.

SO FUN!

38 week doctor appointment

Beej & Chris

It is now only 3 days until my 39 week doctor appointment so this post is a little late, but I wanted to write it down because I know I will be curious when I am pregnant again and definitely wont remember how progressed I was at this point if I don't write it down. Soooo...

I am now dilated to a 3, 70% effaced and still at a -2 station. I had a few times that contractions were pretty strong. I have woke up from them twice in the middle of the night and one time I even got in the bath to help calm them down. So I was very happy to see that they were actually doing something.

This doctor (Dr. Loewen) does an ultrasound at the 38 week doctor appointment to make sure that the head is down. Even though she was pretty sure it was- they do this routine and I was not complaining. I had never had an ultrasound this late in my pregnancy before, so I was pretty excited to see the baby. We got some awesome pictures that will definitely be going into his baby book! I wont lie though, the ultrasound ended up being very very very uncomfortable. It was sooo wierd because I have layed on my back before, but this time I really struggled. I was having a hard time catching my breath and started to get pretty dizzy. I then started having contractions from her pushing on my belly. I didn't want to say anything because I knew if I did that she would stop doing the ultrasound and I really wanted to keep looking at him. Luckily she finished by the time that I was soo dizzy and starting to feel nauseous. I quickly said "I need to sit up for a minute". She looked at me and made some comment on how pale I looked and told me that I could have told her that I was uncomfortable. I then got a bottle of water before we left and kind of leaned on BJ on the way out. The dizziness lasted for a bit. Wierd! Baby must have been pressing on the umbilical cord or something. But either way, I am just happy to see progress and even more happy to hear that the baby is doing good and is head down!
