Uncle Johnathon Graduates from the Fire Academy

Beej & Chris

My brother Johnathon has worked as a C.N.A in the Psych unit for many years but has been trying to find what he wanted to go to school for for many years. He tried out nursing but realized it wasn't for him. After a few trial and error- he found his new career.....A FIRE FIGHTER!!

Once he found what he was supposed to do- he was in the top of his class and got into the SLC Fire on his first attempt (which is really hard to do). All the while he worked full time at the hospital as a CNA, worked part time with a home health company, AND worked full time in IDAHO with our grandparents. Nobody can say that Johnathon is not a hard worker or bound and determined to take care of his family- no matter how hard and tiring it has been.

Needless to say- at his ceremony I got a little teary eyed and was just feeling sooo proud of him and his accomplishment. I can't believe my brother is a fire fighter. How cool is that?! :)

After the ceremony- the academy invited us to go to their training center for snacks and a tour. During the tour the had us go in different rooms where they started fires and showed us the rooms the fire fighters trained in.

It was a very fun and unique tour! The kids learned how to drop to the ground and crawl under the smoke- and were right up close by the fire. We saw how fast things light up in a room.

The kids feeling the heat of the fire.

Light Anton Tenney

Beej & Chris

He is finally here!! JC and Anya's new baby boy 'Light Anton Tenney' was born in April and is such a cute little baby. Grandma Scott came over to the house to watch the kids while we ran to hold the new baby boy. The first two pictures here are ones that Anya took (She takes AMAZING pictures huh!)

Yep- he ALMOST cried when I was holding him- but he changed his mind and realized I was his favorite aunt after all. ;)

His lips are his most prominent feature in my opinion. Too cute!

Bike Safety Fair

Beej & Chris

My neighbor as well as Kierston told us about this fun FREE Bike Safety Fair they were holding in Kaysville, and since free is always good- we made it a plan to go down. Dad had some things to attend to at home so the kids and mom went down.

Right as we pulled up and were going to park on the side of the road- the car in front of us hit a biker who then went flying landing into the grass thank goodness. A little bit ironic eh?
The safety fair was so fun. There were sooo many things to do and vendors to see. Next year it will be much better though if both mom and dad are there- because it was a little difficult with just one ;)

Kaylee brushing the teeth of the stuffed animal before getting a new toothbrush

Fishing for another little prize (there were so many little toys that the kids loved)
Meeting the clown and having her make a fun animal for the kids

It's a monkey!

Playing a little game

This vendor was cool- it was Rocky Mountain Power and they showed all the different ways kids can get electrocuted and what they need to watch for when they are out playing.
We came home with a ton of swag and two coupons for free bike helmets for the kids. The fair was well organized and taught a lot to both the kids and the parents. We will definitely be going again next year if we can.
