Daddy and Daughter Hike up Farmington Canyon

Beej & Chris

Sunday night BJ took Kaylee up Farmington Canyon to see how the canyon was and see where he was going to take the scouts camping the following weekend.
Kaylee was beyond excited! She loves being outside and being outside with her daddy is even better.

They found a snake while they were out!

 Love these two!

Kaylee's friend Lilly's Birthday Party

Beej & Chris

Kaylee is so outgoing and friendly everywhere she goes. BJ's cousin Jessica Tenney's daughter Lilly and Kaylee followed each other around at the Delta reunion so Lilly invited Kaylee to her birthday party that next weekend.
BJ took Kaylee to the party. Kaylee of course found a baby and asked to hold her. She is such a good big sister.
 RAPUNZEL came to visit!

Thanks Jessica and Lilly for inviting Kaylee to come to such a fun party!

Delta Tenney Reunion

Beej & Chris

The Tenney family reunion was held in Delta, Utah this year.
We set up our tent and stayed the night. I was really nervous to go to this reunion because the only family member that I really knew was BJ's dad and his two brothers (Spencer and Richard). Their family doesn't get together very often- maybe once a year. So I really don't know any of them really good. But everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome.

It was fun to spend the night and go play in the water for a bit. But man on man.....the flies in Delta are unbearable. It is definitely farm country!
The kids had a blast playing with the kids around and just running around outside.

All the boys gathered together and set up a huge tent to provide shade

Even Connor joined in on helping out

We took the kids and played in the water the following day.

 'Papa Bruce'

We ended the night with a dutch oven dinner
The kids even helped out in making ice cream

The kids both crashed within 10 minutes of the drive home and slept almost the whole way home. They had a blast!

Parenthood

Beej & Chris

(SO....I found this post in my drafts....thought I would finish it up and post it ;)

These past few weeks have been a little rough with a new sassy 3 year old and a mischievous 2 year old keeping me hopping. I have had my share of breakdowns and thinking of all the hardship it is to be a parent- that I decided I needed to focus on the positive and take time to write down all the joyous and amazing blessings it is to be a parent.

1- (ha ha I am sure I was starting to do this when both kids woke up from their nap and stopped me from completing this)

Well here is my list now:

1- I have 2 BEST friends to talk to anytime of the day/night.
* I literally tell these kids everything. Kaylee and I will have long talks and just recently I have been trying it with Connor and he will just nod his head and say "yeah. okay. yeah" as if he knows exactly what I am talking about and is there to listen and make me smile.

2- I GET to serve someone everyday.
* Sure it can be difficult to serve when you don't want to serve, but service no matter how hard or tedious it is- is always rewarding. I love being the person my kids come to when they need help, and being able to help them.

3- The best CUDDLES in town
* Kaylee will still say to me "Wanna cuddle on the couch" (usually it is to get out of taking a nap- but I will take it however I can get it) and Connor will cuddle all day long if you let him. He is now in his big boy bed and since Kaylee and Connor share a room than I started rocking him to sleep and then putting him to sleep in the playroom. He falls asleep within a few Primary Songs hummed to him and then I sneak a few more cuddles before laying him down.

4- There is never a day that I don't SMILE or LAUGH because of something my kids say or do.
 * For a few examples: read my facebook posts

5- CHRISTMAS will never be the same now that we have sweet kids who are totally in love with the idea of SANTA CLAUSE.
* Seriously- how fun is it to buy presents for your kids and then watch them open them Christmas Day!

Kids are just amazing. They are so close to the spirit and teach everyone they are around how to be loving, nonjudgmental, and kind to those around them. I have learned so much from my kids and am so grateful for my two sweet kids.
