Davis County Fair

Beej & Chris

Surprisingly enough, this was the first time we had been to the Davis County Fair. It was free to go, you just had to pay for parking which wasn't bad at all. We had a pretty busy week, so we ended up having to go on a weekday in the morning...so daddy couldn't be there so that was a bummer. But we will definitely have to plan it better next year so he can come with us.

I loved how the kids could ride the horse and go in the petting zoo for free. We waited in the line for a bit, but the kids were pretty excited. You can't tell by this picture of Connor- but the moment we took him off the pony he wanted to ride again!
They loved petting the bunnies

We then went in the caged area where you could pet all the baby animals you wanted. Kaylee was in heaven!

I love this picture!

Connor really liked petting the animals as well, but if they came right up next to him and he didn't chose to get close to them...then he got nervous.

We decided to pay the $1 and let the kids feed the animals carrots.

The goats would just follow her and jump up on her to get the food. I had to hold the cup so they wouldn't eat it all at once.

At first Connor hated feeding the animals because the goats were right up in his space. But once we moved away from them and he fed this cute pony that was so sweet and gentle, he was in heaven as well.

Sadness

Beej & Chris

After trying to get pregnant for almost a year I made an appointment with my OBGYN to r/o any problems. She scheduled me for a laproscopy where they were going to go in and see if it was the endometriosis causing the problem and if so scrape off the scar tissue to help us try to get pregnant again. I scheduled the laproscopy for the following week.....

And since I was seeing doctors and since my knee's were getting really bad so I went into see an orthopedic surgeon. The surgeon told me that it is probably 'Plica' causing the pain. I had 'plica' scrapped off my L knee right out of high school 10 years ago, but apparently it can grow back. He also said there was a possibility that I could have a meniscal tear as well. So they planned to do my L knee first and if it was a meniscal tear than they were only going to do that knee, and if not they were going to do both knees. We then scheduled the knee surgery for the end of July since we already had the time off work for BJ for the World Horseshoe tournament with my parents and decided to cancel the laproscopy until after the knee surgery was done.

Well....then I found out I was pregnant! We were really excited...suprised...but excited since we had been trying for so long.

Needless to say we canceled both surgeries and set up the OB appointment for the pregnancy. At 9 weeks pregnant and in the middle of August I started spotting. I knew something was wrong at that moment, but the doctors gave me hope and had me do blood work and an ultrasound that confirmed my bad feeling. We had miscarried. After all the emotional ups and downs of finding out we truly had miscarried and the hormones- I was a mess. I kept crying and Kaylee would ask me what was wrong. I told her my belly was hurting, and she would ask questions like "why did they poke your arm if your belly hurts" talking about when they drew blood. I decided I didn't want to wait any longer and wanted to be done with it and heal- so we decided to go in for a D&C.

They scheduled us and we waited and waited in the hospital most of the following day. My amazing dad came over that night and brought me flowers and watched our kids. SO thankful for him. The D&C didn't take very long, but when I came out of the anesthesia I had a reaction to the the propofol and started having myoclonic twitches. Everytime they touched me I would jump. I remember grabbing the nurses hand trying to relax my muscles but just didn't have any control. After a dose of benadryl and being down their awhile the twitches started slowing down so they moved me out of PACU and wanted to watch me for a bit upstairs. I finally convinced them to let me go home and that it was just a reaction and nothing more. We got home really late that night, but my dad was so kind and never complained.

We then rescheduled the knee surgery since I wasn't pregnant anymore, but after setting it up...both BJ and I had a bad feeling about it. We couldn't figure out why we shouldn't do the surgery now but just knew we should wait. So that is where we are now. We are going to try to get pregnant again and just see what the future holds.

I just wanted to thank the few friends and family that knew and were there bringing me treats and being there as a shoulder to cry on. I had an amazing neighbor come pick up my kids on the day I was going in to see the doctor to get tests run and without even calling- she came and took my kids to her house for the day. I am just so grateful for all the amazing people I have in my life and know I couldn't have done it without them.

Discovery Gateway- Warm Fuzzy Reward

Beej & Chris

We talked to the kids about rewarding them when they are doing good things and helping out and taking away things when they don't listen. So we put a bag of 'warm fuzzies' next to a jar, and whenever the kids help out without being asked or are good listeners than they get to put a 'warm fuzzy' in the jar; and when they are naughty than they have to take out a 'warm fuzzy' from the jar. When the jar is filled with all of the 'warm fuzzies' than they get to chose a place to go as their reward.
Well they filled up their jar and chose Discovery Gateway!!
The kids are growing up so much and have been playing and pretending with their toys so much more than they used to- so they really enjoyed the Discovery Gateway.

Kaylee walked around finding all the mailboxes and took all the mail and put it in her mailman bag.

We went with our neighbor Michelle Jamison and when we first got their we signed up for one of the free classes. The kids got to feel all different textures and talk about all 5 senses.

Look how big this little man is getting
