Ashlynn 1 month old

Beej & Chris

This sweet baby girl is such a Good baby!
- She is currently sleeping from 7 am to 1 am and then up at 4 am or 6 am.
- She is so happy and makes the cutest cooing noises. She is so close to laughing
- Kaylee changes her diaper unless its what she calls a "blow-out"
- We borrowed a swing which she loves
- On first attempt she took a bottle without a problem. She drinks 4-6 ounces every 3 hours during day
- Both Kaylee and Connor loved to be swaddled, but Ashlynn is not a huge fan. When we put her to bed we lay her down awake with sometimes one arm swaddles, her binky, and her music and projector that projects onto the ceiling. She loves the projector!

She started doing really good without oxygen and was so close to us taking her totally off. We were doing trials and were sooo close...

and then on 2/11/15 when she was a month old she got RSV. It was so sad. We hardly had any company because everyone was so afraid of getting her sick. Kaylee and Connor were going to preschool however and came home with a cold, and despite our meticulous efforts to keep their germs away from their sweet baby sister..she caught the bug.

It was a blessing in disguise that she was still on oxygen and had the monitors with us. We were able to keep her home and not in the hospital. It was still scary even with me being a nurse. I hated waking up in the middle of the night and seeing her labored breathing, having to suction her out over and over again, and seeing her retracting despite her oxygen being above 90. She started out with 1/16th of a liter of oxygen when she came home from the hospital, and ended up on 1/2 a liter when she got RSV. It was hard to keep pushing that oxygen level up. But I was so grateful for my amazing aunt Sherrie and my neighbor who is a PICU nurse at PCMC. They both helped me a ton.

My amazing Grandparents came to visit!

and brought Kaylee and Connor a Valentine gift.

The first month it was pretty difficult. We were trying to adjust to having a newborn; not to mention adding on the oxygen and monitor cords that were all over the house.....oh and packing up since we sold our house and were moving into an apartment! Phew...it was pretty intense. The kids did pretty good with all the changes; but it was still pretty hard on them.

We had a lot of support from family and friends that helped get us through it all and are soo grateful for all the help.

Christie turns 29

BJ

Christie only has one more year of being in her twenties!  On her birthday, Kaylee and Connor had a field trip for school.  Mom tagged along while I watched Ashlynn at home.  They went to Pizza Pie Cafe' in Bountiful and learned how to make pizza,
Christie was sang to by the whole preschool class and they got a big chocolate chip cookie with ice cream on top. She shared with the kids and a few preschoolers and their mom.
eat pizza, and make awesome faces!

For dinner, we got takeout from Chili's and hung out as a family at home.

Ashlynn and mom sat on the couch...

and watched the show! :)
Actually we all had a dance off playing Just Dance 2015.  Christie kicked my butt since she's so much younger than me.  Happy birthday Christie!

Super Bowl Sunday

Beej & Chris

Even though we were being extra cautious and taking turns going to church so someone could stay home with the baby. We couldn't miss out on our traditional Super Bowl party...though this time we kept it to just our little family just to be safe.

As you can see, we had plenty of yummy treats :)
Pizza, grapes, strawberries, cinnamon rolls, chips & dip, and of course little smokies

Sweet Ashlynn just loves her siblings ha ha
Something I do with the baby and the kids is I pretend like she is talking to them or singing. The kids think it is hilarious; so here they are trying to do it themselves.

A few shots of Ashlynn without oxygen. We were attempting a few RA (room air) trials at this point. She got to be pretty good when she was awake, but would always drop in oxygen when she fell asleep. It was nice to see those cute cheeks of hers though without oxygen for a little bit at least.
