Bear Lake Family Reunion

Beej & Chris

We borrowed Papa Bruce's and Grandma Sherrie's tent trailer for the Bear Lake Reunion again this year. It worked out really well for Ashlynn's naps. We set a fan and one of us just hung out with her while she slept. I even convinced BJ to run 6 or so miles with me while Pumpkin sat and listened for the kids early in the morning.
We only had one incident with the trailer. Ashlynn was playing on mom and dad's sleeping place and fell off. She got a little bonk but nothing too serious thank goodness. Poor thing is definitely a third child.

We had a lot of people offer to hold Ashlynn while we took the other kids out on the water.

Kaylee was loving playing with all of the frogs out on the water
Ashlynn even took naps in her playpen right by us. She was at the perfect age for camping.

Playing with cousins is the best!
We sat all together and listened to Great Grandma Scott tell stories of her life. It was a little windy so she wrapped herself in a blanket to stay warm.

They had a pie eating contest that Pumpkin, Uncle Johnathon, BJ, and Heidi participated in. It was more fun I think to watch ;)

Tied for first these two

They then set up a little pie contest for the kids

Connor went to town. He kept eating and eating even after they announced the winner

They then did a watermelon contest

Connor loved cooking his own hot dog. If we let him he would have cooked everyone's hot dogs and stood there all day.

Candy lipstick

Ashlynn crawling around. She didn't seem to mind the grass

She sure loves her brother. She especially loves attacking and wrestling with him.

We had a great time as usual. We sure love this reunion and hope it continues to happen for awhile longer.

Slide Install and FHE

Beej & Chris

The kids were so excited for the slide install day. They went downstairs and sat in the end of the slide with all their stuffed animals while they waited for it to be installed. The slide was delivered on
 7-28-15.

The workers worked on the slide install all day long, but had to come back and finish the next day because they didn't have all the tools they needed.

The kids liked watching the workers work.
** notice the cardboard window covering.
Look how big that slide is! Eeeeek!

At this point of living in our new house we still didn't have a kitchen table or window coverings and it was starting to drive us crazy. We didn't think it would bother us that much, but I quickly realized how much I appreciated privacy and a place to eat ;) We felt a little overwhelmed with the amount of money we put on the house already, so we didn't feel like we could spend more on blinds or a table with the savings we had after the unexpected extra $10K we gave to the builders on our closing. So....after a lot of talk. We decided to sell our scooter. We never use it, but we both have loved it. I kept saying I would drive it, but it just wasn't convenient and difficult to use with three kiddos. So, we took the plunge and sold it on KSL the day after we posted it. :(  We then took that money and bought blinds and shades for our front room. YAY!

I think I mentioned in a previous post that our neighbors had a pretty amazing fireworks display. BJ and I watched it on the porch swing while the kids were asleep. It was such a fun surprise. Look at how big these fireworks were!! And they were right outside our house!

After the slide was installed we had a few people over to try it (my aunt Amy came over that night!) We then had a FHE a few days later with all of my family.
My mom was a little scared to go down and even screamed the first time she went down. But she went down! I LOVE that adults can go down the slide too. How fun!!

Angela couldn't make it, but she came a few weeks later. The slide was expensive and a lot of stress to put in, but TOTALLY worth it if you ask me. I LOVE that I have a SLIDE in my house!!

Ashlynn Standing up on her own

Beej & Chris

Just before Ashlynn turned 7 months old she learned how to stand on her own. She did a lot of her praciticing in the crib in her room when she was supposed to be sleeping.

On a side note: This girl loves food....
She quickly realized she could stand with the couch
or her play things

She is not picky either- she could eat and eat

and eat :D

This car table was one of Ashlynn's favorite places to be- especially when her big brother came to play with her. They sure do grow up too fast don't they?!
