Cabo San Lucas, Mexico & Pirate night

Beej & Chris

On the 3rd day on the ship we stopped in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This was a tendering port (meaning- you had to get on another small boat to get off the cruise ship).

We looked at the different excursions Disney was offering and a lot of them just wouldn't work out well with a baby. We seriously considered doing the Dolphin swim- but knew one of the adults would have to sit out and so we decided against it. We finally decided we would just get off the boat and see what options they had. The moment we came off the boat and on the street- we were bombarded with salesman trying to sell us their excursion. BJ took a video of them hollering at us. It was a little overwhelming, but we knew what we were walking into. We ended up negotiating one of the guys down to $50 for all 6 of us to go on a Glass Bottom Boat tour to a beach where they would let us stay and play and then come pick us back up.
Connor is looking down at the "Glass bottom" part of the boat looking for fish.

Here is a good look of our cruise ship
It was SO SO HOT! We were all dripping sweat just sitting there. Ashlynn was exhausted but did really well. She seriously is the best baby! Most babies would have cried and cried with how tired she was a lot of the vacation; but she was so happy most of the time.

tired eyes...
Before taking us to the beach they took us to see some of the rock work

'Lands End'
and some of the Sea Lions. They were all sleeping, but on our way back to the ship we saw a sea lion jump on the back of a fishers boat looking for food. They told us they do that all the time because they are so so lazy. ha

Here is the beach we went to. Again, we were stopped by several people trying to sell us things.

There was a lady holding this Iguana and Kaylee ran to go see it. Before I knew it Kaylee was holding it and the lady was telling me to take her picture....and then asking me for money :D

The water felt sooo nice. Ashlynn LOVED the water.

Yes- they did sell us a few things. We "rented" an umbrella and bought a blanket to sit on. Which made it really nice when I had to feed Ashlynn.

Grandma playing with the kids in the sand.

Connor almost falling asleep on the boat ride home.

After we got home and had the kids have some quiet time. We got all dressed up in our Pirate Costumes

We were all super impressed with Grandma Tenney's costume

Yes, they even made our ketchup into a Mickey Mouse
We then got a picture with Stitch.

Girl Party!

I LOVE this picture of Connor. We were given these Mickey ears as a F.E gift which Connor ended up wearing. Doesn't he look so stinkin cute.

Pirate dinner

This is my favorite. When we took Kaylee to Disney land when she was 3 1/2-4. She would pop out her leg for all the character pictures. Notice Connor's leg ;)
Connor told me after "I put my leg out like Mickey does!". ha ha SO cute!

You can't see it in this picture- but he is copying Mickey with his leg out here as well

We laughed when we saw this dessert with his "side of carmel sauce" ha ha ha

More pictures with Stitch

Connor asked to go to the Kids area for this show. So, Millie came and sat by Kaylee. This was the perfect show for Connor to miss because it was the comedian. Kaylee thought it was hilarious, but I don't know if Connor would have enjoyed it as much as he did the kids area.

Silly faces

Then to end the night we took Ashlynn to the nursery sound asleep so she could sleep while we took the other kids to the Pirate party that went from 9-11 pm
ha ha this picture cracks me up

We bought the kids light up toys before coming on the vacation. This was the perfect night to use them. The kids had fun with them. But honestly, there was so much to do they would have been totally fine without them.
This was the night they did the big firework display off onto the water. They also had the characters come out and dance. Afterwards they had a buffet. Yes, we let our kids eat another meal at 11pm! BJ and I ate some fruit- but the kids went to town on a huge turkey leg. ha ha They didn't eat much dinner so they were pretty hungry. It worked out perfect.

We then picked up Ashlynn and headed to bed. Grandma grabbed some fruit at the buffet as well- but she headed back to her room.

Halloween Day on the Cruise ship

Beej & Chris

Since this cruise was sailing in October they called it the Halloween on the High Seas and included a Halloween night where everyone was invited to wear costumes. All the characters came out in their Halloween costumes as well.

Their were many characters throughout the cruise that you could wait in line to see, but the princesses and the Frozen characters were assigned to certain times. We had heard about this and got tickets the first day we got on the cruise. It was a first come earliest time kind of thing. Our time was at 9 and 930 am the morning of the Halloween day. So, we got all the kids dressed and grabbed a few pastries to tide everyone over so we could get to the princesses by 9 am.

The cool thing about being assigned is that you got to see all of the princesses at once.

Kaylee all dressed up in her Jasmine costume
 Belle
I was the magic carpet (I kind of ran out of time for my costume so I may tweak it a little before Halloween), BJ was Abu (we had his red vest but totally forgot to put it on him), Ashlynn was Iago, Connor- Aladdin and Kaylee Jasmine. I worked hard on making everyone's costumes with the exception of Kaylee's. All we had to do with hers was buy a nude leotard to go under. We got a lot of compliments on the costume day as well as the following few days after. It sure made me feel good, because as much as I like to do it every Halloween...it is a lot of work. So hearing that everyone liked it made it worth it.

The kids each got to go trick or treat around the ship (it was all pretty close together) and take part in Mickey's Mouse-querade party where the characters came out and danced with the kids. They do this party twice. I had walked by during the first party so I knew right where Minnie was going to be, so we made sure to stand there for the party. Kaylee loved dancing with her! They also did haunted stories about the magic tree. Kaylee and Connor enjoyed it and even though it wasn't that scary Kaylee asked afterwards "that's not real right?".

This was also one of the port days where we could get off in Ensenada Mexico. We had looked at the excursions and really didn't see much we wanted to do, and we knew it would be a fair walk. So we decided to stay on the ship and let the kids meet the characters and play in the kids club. It ended up being a really relaxing day.

The evening show was titled the Golden Mickey. It was spectacular!
