I can't remember which hotel we stayed at, but it was just perfect for what we needed. It had two separate rooms with one of them being where the kids slept.
The kids room had bunk beds as well as a tv for the kids. We set up a playpen for Ashlynn to sleep in.
The hotel also had free breakfast and just outside the hotel entrance was the shuttle to the Disneyland Park.
We decided to go to Disneyland this time because of the miscarriage that I recently had. We then found out about the parotid tumor and decided to keep our vacation as planned and to do the surgery on the tumor when I got back. I then broke my foot after we returned. Needless to say I was SOO grateful we kept with our plan in going to Disneyland as a family. Nate had never been before, so we invited him to come with us. It was so much fun having him there with us. He got a smokin deal and just had to pay for his disneyland tickets and food.
Even though the hotel was a good price and had two separate rooms, it would have been nice if it was a little closer. The kids would be so tired by the end of the day and by the time we ate breakfast, we didn't get into the park until just after it had opened. One of these times we are going to have to try out the Disneyland hotel where you get early entry each morning, and we will bring our own breakfast with us. It's crazy how quickly the park fills up with people! That 'magic hour' of early entry really is magical!
Kaylee had a good time getting everyone's signatures and meeting the characters. Connor sometimes wasn't so sure. He would get pretty shy and hide behind me.
Kaylee and Connor loved riding all the big rides twice! Either BJ or I would go with Nate and the two older kids while the other would stay with Ashlynn. We would then use the "baby switch pass" and go again.
Everyone was pretty tired by the end of that first day. Nate was even falling asleep looking at his phone
BJ found Aladdin with Connor! Connor has been loving the movie Aladdin so it was fun to get a picture with them.
Waiting for the parade in California Adventure
Dad was put in charge of getting the kids dinner. They were pretty excited with what he chose
Ahh the Tower of Terror! I took the kids to ride it for their first time. We came out of the ride with both kids crying as we walked out. People were smiling and laughing as they passed us. When we got out, it was daddy's turn to ride with the baby switch pass. Since the options were either ride the ride again or hang out with mom while I try to get Ashlynn to sleep....they opted to ride it again and ended up LOVING it. They talked about the Tower of Terror forever afterwards.
You can't see Connor, but he is hidden behind the guy in front with glasses
Here the kids are going with dad for the second time. Kaylee even has her hands up in the air!
The kids all got costumes to wear to the park. The girls got Sofia dresses, and Connor got a Buzz Light-year costume. But he decided he didn't want to wear it except for at home ha ha
They also got a stuffed Minnie or Mickey as a souvenir that mom and dad had purchased ahead of time.
We caught some characters as we walked into the park and then rode the carousel.
Here is Connor hiding from Peter pan
Ashlynn did pretty good at taking naps in the stroller
Ashlynn did pretty good seeing the characters, but only if she was in the right mood. If she was tired or hungry, she would get pretty shy.
Nate ran into some people he knew from his mission. He was pretty excited to see them at the park
'Jungle cruise'
'It's a Small world after all'
Playing in Toon Town
You can tell by Connor's eyes how excited he was to meet Mickey! He was by far his favorite character this time
The kids loved exploring Minnie's house
This was the first time we got to see the Paint the Night parade, and we loved it!
Uncle Nate and BJ stood while the kids and I shared a tiny piece of blanket on the ground
We definitely wore the kids out. So grateful we had Nate to help carry kids home
I believe this was our last day at the park but can't remember for sure. We got to the park early and went straight to Jedi Training since Connor has been a huge star wars fan. The problem....Connor got too scared and didn't dare do it. But Kaylee joined and had fun fighting Darth Vader.
The biggest annoying thing the kids did while at the park...was play on the railing. I told the kids not to touch the railing anymore; so this is what they started to do instead. ugh it got annoying fast ha ha
Connor was excited that he was tall enough to drive the car in Atopia
Kaylee found Alice and wanted her signature. Alice and the Mad Hater kept walking around so Kaylee started following them. The Mad Hater grabbed Kaylee's hand and took her on a stroll with him. I love how Kaylee is holding up her dress as she walks.
We then got a signature and a quick picture before they snuck away
We had someone take this picture for us, and they covered part of the lens with their finger. Mary Poppins is sometimes hard to catch, so we were excited to find her and Burt. I love how Burt is holding Connor's hand.
Kaylee dared go in the tea cup with her dad and Nate. Those crazy boys like to spin that tea cup way too fast for me!
The kids were having a meltdown; so it was a much needed time for a Mickey ice cream cone. Usually when we come we don't spend much money on food in the park since it is soo expensive. But this time I wanted to be able to try out a few treats; so we made a budget for each day that we could spend. I stayed in budget and we got to enjoy a few treats here and there. I can't remember how much it was that we set, but it was the perfect amount.
ahhhh I love this picture of Ashlynn in her Sofia costume meeting Sofia!
Toy Story Mania is always fun
Kaylee had a total breakdown and was in desperate need of a nap; so Dad sat with her on a bench and kept telling her to close her eyes until she finally crashed. Ashlynn was asleep as well in the stroller. Connor and I went and explored the wilderness area where he got to play on the playground and work to earn his explorer badge. There were a few things he really really wanted to do but wasn't quite tall enough. But he had a good time.
ha ha this picture of Kaylee's face and Dad's disgusted face is too funny. Kaylee was over reacting about some food situation and BJ was standing his ground; so Kaylee lost it.
We decided to watch the World of Color and then just watch the fireworks as we waited for the bus to get back to the hotel. It was perfect. BJ and the older kids missed a good portion of the California Adventure World of Color because they wanted to ride Tower of Terror one last time. But Ashlynn, Nate and I watched them since Nate had never seen them before.
