Kids Soccer

Beej & Chris

I  (BJ) was tired of sending Kaylee to dance every Monday and then only seeing her dance every 6 months at a recital that always seems to be an hour too long.  I convinced Christie and Kaylee to try out soccer this year.

We signed up both Kaylee and Connor with the local rec center and since they're so close in age, it turns out that they would be on the same team.  We were worried that Connor would be smaller than all the players, but that's not really the case.  Most of the kids are his size with a few that are Kaylee's size.

The uniforms were huge (I actually use the socks that they gave to the kids because they were so big,) but it is fairly cute.  Here are some pictures of Kaylee doing a few poses in her uniform.

This is her awesome game face - watch out!

Trying out some shin guards... not that anyone really kicks that hard, but safety first.

This is before the first game, both kids were super excited.

The coach is trying to keep everyone involved.

Connor likes to stand in the goal since he can't keep up with the people who usually have the ball.  He makes Christie or I stand back there with him, but he's saved a few goals standing back there.  No hands are allowed at this point, but he likes standing back there anyway.

Here's a picture of what usually happens.  The kids all try and get the ball.  We're trying to teach them to share, but it's kind of a fastest kid wins.  Fortunately for Kaylee (and us ;)) she's one of the fastest along with the boy next to her (Alex.)

Connor usually ends up pretty sad since he can't keep the ball away from the other kids.

Kaylee has a soft heart and tries to make everyone, including her brother, happy.  She held one boys hand for a whole half of one of the games.

The coach is really cool and really tries to get everyone involved.

Team pictures.  I think there are 8 total players, and each team can play 6 at a time.  In reality only about 3 to 4 on each team are too involved.  Kaylee is one of those and I love seeing her out there running and scoring goals.  I hope she continues with soccer, but if she doesn't then at least she gave it a shot.  It's been good for Connor as well and hopefully he can get a littler bigger and a lot faster!

Ogden Temple Open House

Beej & Chris

Ever since Kaylee and Connor saw me go into the temple and Connor started calling it "Mommies temple", we knew the next Temple Open House we needed to get our kids inside to look around. The kids couldn't believe that THEY got to go inside even though they didn't have a special "ticket" (aka temple recommend).

The kids were both so excited to go. We left right when BJ got home from work and gave both kids cheese tortillas to eat on the way. Kaylee was complaining that the sun was in her eyes. Before we knew it she was sound asleep with a cheese tortilla covering her eyes and face. It was hilarious. We took a video of her waking up which was also really funny :D

A few sibling shots

Gotta love having a big sister

During the temple walk through we got to talk to the kids a lot about the temple. They thought it was really pretty inside and overall it was a great family night together.

Bear Lake Price Family Reunion

BJ

We had our annual Bear Lake Reunion in August this year compared with the usual July timing.  We are able to use a cabin right on the waterfront and the weekend that it was available changed this year.  Being so close to school, it didn't work out well for some people, but we made sure to work things out to be able to go.

We took my parents tent trailer and headed up Thursday after I worked half a day from home.  The tent trailer is super nice to have and we set up a couple of fans and took the laptop for the kids to watch a show on as well.

I guess Kaylee found something interesting (keep your curtains closed with this girl around!)

The water was amazing!  It was as warm or warmer than I remember.  The weather was awesome too.  One of the family members brought a blowup trampoline.  This wasn't that fun to setup, but the kids enjoyed it.  I was too heavy to use it.  :)

I loved the paddle boards and kids kayaks (as did the kids.)  They were perfect to head out on the water and have some fun with.

Connor would have loved to be in the boat all day.  We forgot his water shoes so he wasn't loving walking in the lake, but he'd stay out forever on the kayak.  He would use the paddle and act like he was actually paddling which was awesome.  He really thought he was moving the boat, and really he had good form.

Mom got some selfie action with the kids!  (Really she took all the pictures because she's awesome!)

Of course no one goes to bed on time so Kaylee and Brooklyn were exhausted Friday night!

Christie even got a selfie with her Grandma.  I think Grandma was a bit confused what was going on, but it was great to have them there.  She is just 1 of the 2 alive siblings in the Price family and we're really glad she's still around!  She's an awesome grandma/great-grandma.

Peaches!

Beej & Chris

Can I just say...I LOVE this time of season. Fresh Peaches, Fresh Tomatoes, Fresh Zucchini...ahh, it is all so yummy.

I canned a patch of peaches with the kiddos while Daddy was at work. BJ then canned several more patches while I was gone at work or Relief Society as well as some yummy peach syrup. The kids are good helpers especially when it comes to peeling the peaches.

Connor is a HUGE fan of peaches. We keep finding peels all around the house and then a little Connor hidden behind the love sac or under the table peeling and eating a peach.
The kids are also huge fans of peach muffins. We made it one day and they kept grabbing them and eating them whenever they wanted a snack. It is so much easier to feed the kids healthy food with all this fresh food so available.
