Mueller Park Canyon

Beej & Chris

BJ's sister JQ and her husband Adam sent out an e-mail inviting the family to meet up with them up Mueller Park Canyon for some marshmallows and some good ole' time around the fire. There is nothing like driving 15 minutes away from our house into a canyon that makes you get that nice campfire feeling to it...and then to add family on top of that- well, you just can't beat it.

Aunt Elisa- she is always so good with the kids.

Adam reading. Nothing like reading a book out in the woods.

Daddy helping Kaylee cook a hot dog in the fire

Mommy with the kids :)

Kaylee giving Alana a hug. Sooo fun having cousins all around the same age.

The all and amazing Grandma Sherry and Papa Bruce. Whenever we get together they always take the kids and let BJ and I just relax. Kaylee actually follows them both around everywhere they go.

Gotta love family!

THE CIRCUS!!!

Beej & Chris

Ok, I will admit it. I LOVE the Circus and convinced BJ to get tickets to take the "kids" but let's be honest, the tickets were really for me :) But I figured Kaylee would enjoy seeing the animals just as much as I would right?

Things started out pretty good. Kaylee was loving all the sounds, lights, and animals as they were coming into the arena.

BJ, Connor and I were all enthralled with the all amazing Circus.

And this is what Kaylee was doing....

Didn't you know- stickers are WAY "cool-er" than the Circus!

More amazing Circus acts...
and more stickers...

We brought a bottle for Connor but after he finished it I fed him some more and then rocked him to sleep. Isn't he such a cutie :)

Kaylee refused to eat dinner when mom and dad ate, so I caved and got her popcorn even though she didn't eat her dinner but I just knew she was hungry and well..you choose your battles sometimes!

ELEPHANTS! Let's be honest you can never get enough pictures of the elephants. Here is a quick fact about elephants that you may or may not know but I am SURE you wanted to know if you didn't ha ha
Elephants are pregnant for 22 months! 22 months! Pretty impressive if you ask me.
Ok- one more factoid for ya: An average female elephant weighs 6,000 pounds and a male 11,000 pounds.
It just blows my mind they can lift them selves up and lean on top of each other like this.

BJ and I had a lot of fun at the Circus- maybe next year Kaylee will enjoy it a little bit more. I know Connor will at least.

Here is our attempt at a "family" picture. You can see Connor's binkie in the bottom left can't ya?!

Attempt #2. And as good as it gets. :)

Utah State Fair

Beej & Chris

Here are a few pictures of our fun night at the Utah State Fair. I was excited to take Kaylee this year to see all of the animals. We started out by taking Kaylee through the little kid farm walk-through. I feel like a bad mom, because there are no pictures of Connor; BJ and I took turns carrying him in the Moby Wrap and taking pictures of Kaylee. He did pretty good though. Mostly slept and ate a few times.

I thought this was a cool concept. Kaylee had to pick a seed..

Plant the seed....

And then went and picked the plant that she "grew"

ha ha I had to take a picture. Kaylee kept trying to squish her way in between these two in front of her. Waiting in line is the worst!

Picking apples from the apple tree

Milking the cow

Cute!

After we went through and finished all of her "chores" she got a dollar to go and buy something in the store. She had a choice of chips, apple, and I think a cookie (I cant really remember). She picked up the chips at first but ended up biting into an apple. SO she got the apple. :)

Kaylee was getting pretty tired of the stroller and I brought the extra baby carrier. We didn't use this much with Kaylee because well- with your first you have two free hands to hold them whenever you need to. But now that we have two kids it is almost essential to have another way to hold a child. :) We realized that Kaylee still fits the age limit of the carrier and tried out carrying her on BJ's back. She LOVED it! BJ and Kaylee went to go see the Sea Lion show while I fed Connor.

By the time that was over, we had made it through maybe 1/3 of the fair and both kids were done. I could see Kaylee getting tired but refusing to fall asleep on daddy's back so we got some yummy funnel cakes and headed home. By this time Connor was a little overstimulated, gassy, and tired so it took a bit before he would fall asleep. BUT we made it! And overall had a great time. Can't wait till next year. Maybe we will start on the other end of the park so we can actually see some of the animals ;)

Brother and Sister Love

Beej & Chris

Kaylee LOVES Connor. She grabs his hand and puts it on her foot and says "tickle tickle". She will poke him, tickle him, and tease him like crazy but he LOVES it. The only thing he does not like is when he is tired and Kaylee pulls his binky out of his mouth. Mom doesn't like that either, because it takes awhile to calm him back down. But besides that Kaylee is a great Big Sister to her sweet little brother Connor boy. I just love seeing Kaylee get soo excited when she wakes up and goes looking for her "Nonner" as well as seeing Connor's face light up as her sister runs to play with him. We feel so lucky to have these sweet kids a part of our family.

I love their bellies in this picture

I told Kaylee to hold Connor's hand in this picture but she know does it all the time. She lays next to him under the play mat and just holds his hand while they play together.

Kaylee gives Connor lots and lots of kisses x0x0x
