Sewing Projects

Beej & Chris

Project #1
Carseat Cover: This was one of my favorites! I love it and was so proud that I finally got brave enough to make it myself. The one we have for Kaylee; BJ's sister made. She said she would make one for Connor all I needed to do was get her the fabric and materials. Well it never happened so I finally just sat down and made it myself and totally love it. It really wasn't that difficult and turned out pretty cute.

Project #2
Binkie attachment: I don't have a picture for this. But I ended up making a few binkie attachments which were pretty easy as well. They are cheap and a great thing to add to a few swaddle blankets as a baby shower present.
Project #3
Angry Birds Costume for BJ: I found a sweet website http://theclockblog.blogspot.com/2011/01/angry-birds-costume-instructions.html and decided I just had to make one of these costumes. Originally I was just going to do something simple one a t-shirt but with Joann's coupons the big costume ended up only costing $12 so I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.

I thought it would only take me a few hours....12 hours later ha ha I finally finished it. It shouldn't have taken that long, but I was having trouble with my sewing machine.

This is right before I finished it...you will have to see the totally finished photo on the halloween post when BJ is wearing it. This was before I got all the stuffing worked out so the feathers on top aren't showing, not to mention I hadn't sewed the bottom piece together yet.
Project #4 & 5
Angry bird & Green pig (from Angry birds) t-shirt Costume for my brother Johnathon and his wife Kierston: This actually only took about an hour 1/2. Since I had already cut out a face for BJ's costume it was pretty easy to trace out another one. The pig took a little bit longer just because it was the first time but it wasn't too bad. I just kept asking BJ "does this look right?" until he thought it looked like the angry birds on the game.

They wanted to safe their shirts so I just safety pinned everything on the red shirt but ran out of time for the green one. So Kierston ended up just sewing that one on and it turned out pretty cool. It was fun to make!
Project #6:
Lady Bug Costume: Since I had so much leftover red felt from BJ's costume. I decided to throw together a lady bug costume for me. I just used my leftover red and black felt and hot glue that I had on hand and put it all together the night before we needed it. ha ha The worst part was that dang hot glue. I kept burning myself..but I finished it and am happy with the end result. I found the idea on this website: http://www.feltorama.com/

I just stuffed it with half of an old body pillow I had lying around and then safety pinned it to a black vest I had. I guess I did end up buying the black head band and black pipe cleaner but that wasn't too bad.

I think I will take a short break on projects for a little bit now.......

2011 Fall Family Pictures

My mom always does such a great job at taking pictures! I just love all of these. My cousin Crystal helped us out this time as well. She was so great with getting the kids to focus and smile for the camera. She took a lot of the family pictures and did an amazing job! Thanks Crystal.

LOVE my dad..

LOVE my mom! How lucky am I to have such great parents?!

7 grandkids all under the age of 6 with 5 under the age of 2!

which is why these next three pictures are hilarious...

My mom captured some great pictures of Kaylee that I wanted to share

I taught her to put her hands in her pockets when her hands get cold. Doesn't she just look so grown up!
And of course our smiley Connor boy with Grandma Scott :)

Connor 4 months

Beej & Chris

4 months old!
ok- so these pictures are when he was about 3 1/2 months old....

ha ha I just love his facial expression here

Cute even when he is crying :)

Chillin' with momma

he is getting more and more focused on objects

LOVE this smile!

I will post Connor's 4 month stats after his doctors appointment next week, but for now here are some pictures and info on our sweet Connor boy.
Connor is getting to be SO much FUN. It was hard for those first few months with Kaylee and Connor, but they are now both on such a fun stage. It is just so much fun!
Connor is still smiling like crazy all the time. He loves his daddy..especially when they watch football together. But he has gone through spurts of being a momma's boy...and giving his daddy a hard time. I will be holding Connor and then hand him to BJ while I go do something. BJ will be holding him the exact same way and doing the exact same thing, but he just starts crying. But like I said it has only happened a few times on and off. Now that I have been working some- he is doing much better.

I just love how it takes Connor's whole body to smile. SO cute!

He has also found his hands recently and seems to think they taste pretty good.
Connor LOVE LOVE LOVES the bath. He goes crazy in there splashing everywhere. We are still using the baby bath even though he is getting to be big for it, so every time I bathe him the cupboards, floor, and me are all soaked. Kaylee likes to push the chair up next to the sink to help bathe him as well. She just laughs as he kicks and splashes everywhere.

Connor has successfully mastered rolling over- just before he turned 4 months! The day after he figured out how to roll over from his tummy to his back..he rolled over from his back to his tummy. He's got skills!
Connor loves to be talked to. He will sit in his toy saucer and on the play mat for a little bit, but would just be happy as can be if we just held him and talked to him. Kaylee helps us entertain him. She loves it when I let her hold him. Connor is also our little cuddle bug. He loves to cuddle up and take naps with dad. He is still sleeping in the co-sleeper so he sometimes ends up cuddling with mom during the night and we just love it!

Kaylee update

Beej & Chris

Kaylee is now 20 months old and SO MUCH FUN! She is talking like crazy and is starting to form her own opinion on what she wants and when she wants it. She loves stickers and will sit and color for a good 30-40 minutes sometimes.

Her hair is getting thicker and longer and so fun to play with. My sister-in-law Kierston taught me this Hair-dew. I love it!

Kaylee actually does pretty good while I do her hair...as long as I put on some cartoons or something fun to watch while I do it ;)

Kaylee is liking all of her old baby toys, and has a hard time not taking them all away from Connor to play with them herself.

Kaylee has also accomplished learning how to put her shoes on herself and loves to do it all day long. She still takes a good 2-3 hour nap each day anywhere between 1230-2pm. She wakes up around 7:30-8am and goes to bed at around 8pm every night. She is getting better and better at saying her prayers and after we are done she likes to point the the picture of Jesus on her wall and says "Jesus". Kaylee LOVES Connor sooo much. She still gives him kisses and hugs all the time. When he is crying I will say, "Go see if Connor is ok Kaylee" and she will go give him his binky, lay down next to him and talk to him "its ok buddy, shhh shhh, It's ok". We were working on teaching Connor how to roll over (I have a video but it is taking forever to upload on youtube so I gave up) and Kaylee kept laying on the ground rolling over to show him how to do it. The next day I found Kaylee rolling Connor over a few times saying "Roll over!" I told her he could do it himself. lol Kaylee just loves him so much it is so cute!
We still can't figure out what "Cocoa" means. She says "Cocoa?" to us several times a day and whenever we ask what Cocoa is-she replies "C". And then when we ask "C?" she replies "Yes!" everytime. lol She has her own secret language.
Kaylee is LOVING Elmo these days as well as playing pretend with her toys. She is still learning how to share. Right now instead of just grabbing a toy, she puts her hands out and pretty much in the face of who she is asking for the toy and says, "I have it? I have it?"
We just love our Kaylee girl, but sure wish she would stop growing up because time is going by too fast!
