Bridal Shower

Beej & Chris

My beautiful sister ANGELA SCOTT is getting married! Today my mom, sister-in law Kierston, and I threw her a bridal shower at my house. It was a lot of fun and as always good to see family and friends. Here are a few pictures of the day. I will have to get more pictures from my mom. I was running around so much that I didn't feel like I had much time to take pictures.

Baby kicks

Beej & Chris

So, it is 10:30 pm and I am supposed to be finishing a few things for school but I just wanted to write a few thoughts down. I just got back from clinicals at PCMC. I am with a nurse named Marie- who I knew from when I used to work at PCMC a few years ago so I was pretty excited to have her. Anyway, things are going really well. Marie is a float pool nurse so everyday is an adventure. We have floated to NICU, same day surgery and mostly to the ICS unit. I have to complete 135 hours and am over half way done. Only 5 more shifts left and I will be finished!!! Just have a few tests and my NCLEX and I am done with nursing school! Man am I excited!

I talked to my old manager at PCMC in the ICS unit (cancer unit) because a lot of the nurses up there keep telling me to apply and work there when I finish.
* I used to work in the ICS unit 2 about 2 1/2 years ago and am still good friends with the staff up there. I even saw a pt's family this last week that I had taken care of- so that was fun!

So I just wanted to touch base with her and see what the options were for a job when I graduate. She was excited I was interested in coming and gave me all the info on when to apply and what I needed to do to get started there. BUT today I had a feeling I should go talk to her again and discuss my pregnancy and see what kind of policies they have on new grads and hours. I guess Primary childrens have a policy that new grads have to work full time for one year in order to get hired on. :( BJ and I have talked about it and just don't feel like that is what I should be doing right now with the baby. So she gave me her info and told me to keep in touch with her and let her know what I want to do. Then if I chose to go back there later I could get started on there. I LOVE kids and I really enjoyed the ICS unit. It will be sad not to go back there right after I graduate but I feel like something else is out there that will work better for me, BJ and our daughter. :)

Speaking of our daugher...she is moving around like crazy right now. Late at night is my favorite. I think I put her to sleep with all the walking and now that I am sitting here quietly she is wide awake and kicking. I just saw my belly move a little- it was SOOO FUN! Who knew something so simple would make you so happy! Things have been going really good. I have found that I need to elevate my legs more so I don't get kankles but other than that no complains right now. I feel very blessed and am just hoping she is doing good and staying healthy!

Thoughts

Beej & Chris

This may be boring to some, but this is part of my journal so I am going to write about it anyway. :D. I have been feeling blessed and overwhelmed over the last little bit.
I have really enjoyed feeling the baby kick and move around, and cant wait till BJ can feel it! It is wierd seeing my belly grow...cause I still can't believe I am pregnant and have a person growing in my tummy. I honestly say or think the words "I am pregnant, really?!" EVERYDAY! It is just crazy and amazing and overwhelming and exciting all at 0nce.
Sometimes I will see a baby and just want our baby girl to be here right now! And then sometimes I think about the actual process of having the baby and I get scared to death. I have seen a few babies delivered in my clinicals in school but it still freaks me out. I worry all the time that I am not doing all the things I am supposed to for the baby, and that something will happen to the baby. But I have been comforted over and over again which has really helped. I am nervous for the future and if I am going to know how to teach my kids the important things, and if I am going to have the patience I need each day.
I am having a lot of fun getting things ready for the babies room and enjoy the projects I am working on...but get overwhelmed and tired easy so I just take it one day at a time. Luckily I have amazing support and love from BJ, my family, and friends that it has not been too bad.
Not a fan of acid reflux and feel for those that deal with this on a daily basis.
Like I said, I have had a lot of emotions over the past couple weeks (good ole' hormones) and I just thought I would write a few of them down. Thanks for listening or reading. :)

BEST Husband in the WORLD

Beej & Chris

I wrote on facebook that I have the best husband in the world and I want to explain why. I have been meaning to do this post for a little bit and am finally taking the time to do it. These last few weeks I have just felt so overwhelmingly blessed. With the baby and with the support I have had from BJ.

A few weeks ago, BJ came home with my being frustrated and onry. I had been trying to pass a specific NCLEX quiz that day and was frustrated and felt like I hadn't gotten much done that day. BJ pulled out the laptop and played this music and started dancing with me in the kitchen.

I just started crying. I was having a bad day and was being onry to him, but instead of BJ letting it get to him...he just took it on himself to make the day a better one.

Throughout nursing school and recently the emotions that come with pregnancy. BJ has been constantly patient and loving. When I have a crazy craving late at night he just smiles and says "lets go get it!". When I went through the period of not wanting to eat anything, he would continue to name things until something sounded ok enough to try to eat. He made me homemade chicken noodle soup when I was sick with the cold and is always doing anything he can to make me life better. BJ gives plasma twice a week to help save money for the baby. He is always making sure I am taken care of and is never thinking of himself.

I really could go on and on but I just want him to know how much I appreciate all that he has been doing. BJ you are a wonderful husband and will be an amazing father! Thank you for all you do everyday!

Its a.........

BJ

BJ and I went for our 16 week doctor's appointment today to find out if we were having a baby girl or baby boy in february. Whenever I told people that I was only 15 1/2 weeks along and we were finding out the gender...they were totally shocked to say the least. I just kept saying, "ya they can find out a lot earlier these days." But I was starting to feel a little nervous, thinking maybe I am confused...maybe he just wanted us to come in and we weren't having an ultrasound today. But sure enough, we did the ultrasound and the doctor pointed out everything and took pictures and said " I am 95% sure it is going to be a GIRL! I would be really really surprised if it is a boy!" Now, I know that doctors are wrong sometimes but I had the feeling we were going to have a girl at the very beginning so I am feeling pretty good about it.
Today's appointment was very special. While we were waiting for the doctor to come in BJ and I were just talking about becoming parents and it just made me realize how blessed I am to be pregnant and to be having this opportunity right now. I was worried that I may have a hard time getting pregnant because I have endometriosis and that is a big cause for infertility. Anyway as we were looking at our baby move around, seeing how big it was already, and finding out the gender; I just felt this overwhelming feeling of joy and comfort. We both are so grateful for this wonderful opportunity to become parents. Thanks everyone for your support.
