Memorial day memories
Beej & Chris
On Memorial day I got asked to do a diabetic visit for one of the nurses that had strep throat. I went to see a patient that I have been taking care of since I started with Life Path Home Health. He is in his 90's and the cutest old man. I went in and got all my supplies ready to check his sugar and give him his insulin. He said, "today is decoration day right?" We got to talking about memorial day and when I asked him if he had any plans that day, he told me that his niece was going to go put some flowers on his previous wife's grave, "the temple marriage one" he said. I could see a tear in his eye. I told him that she sounds like a really amazing person and I wish I could have met her. He just looked at me and said, "I am ready to visit her myself". As tears are rolling down my eyes I quickly gather my stuff and walk out the door. I don't usually get soo emotional. I just thought it was so neat to see the love he has for his wife and the fact that he know he will see her again. It was just so sweet. It made me want to run home to BJ and give him a HUGE hug.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BJ
Beej & Chris
BJ is now officially a quarter of a century old!! He is pretty excited that he doesn't have to pay extra to rent a car now :) Since his birthday fell on memorial day and we already had plans to go to Lagoon with the Tenney's; we decided to celebrate a little early at my parents house. My dad made a homemade chocolate cake and some yummy steaks. We had fun playing games and just hanging out.
My parents and I went in on a 16 foot ladder for BJ and BJ's mom bought him a weed eater. I also surprised him with some new sandles. Needless to say he was pretty excited for all his fun presents. BJ Never...NEVER asks for ANYTHING. So when he told me that he wants a ladder and/or a weed eater. I just had to let everyone know so we could all go in on it together. BJ is an amazing person always serving others. In fact he has a hard time letting anyone else serve him. I am just so grateful for BJ and hope his birthday weekend was special.
Here are a few fun pictures. This is Kaylee and her new cousin Desiree. Wow- Kaylee is HUGE!
Kaylee is getting soo big. In a high chair for the first time. She played while we played games for BJ's birthday.Kaylee sporting her new swimming suit. It is a 6 month swimming suit, but it fits perfectly. Now I wanna go swimming with her soo bad!
All in all I think it was a great weekend. We had a lot of fun. I am sure BJ is excited for this next weekend so he can pull out all of his new toys! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BJ!

Meet Desiree Ann Shumway

Desiree Ann
My sister Angela had her baby last night. She only pushed for like 10 minutes! I was coaching her the whole time yelling "push" "PUSH, you can do it!" while holding her left leg and left hand. When Desiree came out the amniotic fluid splashed all over my leg and left foot- I was wearing sandles. ugh Good thing I love my sister! I guess baby poop never hurt anyone. LOL I didn't realize I was being so loud and over the top until the doctor started laughing at me and said, "Wow, you are a great coach. You can come coach my patients anytime!" :-) But seriously, Angela was awesome. Her epidural made her completely numb so it was hard for her to know if her pushes were effective, and she still did awesome.
Desiree weighed in at 6 lbs 13.8 ounces and is 19 inches long with red hair. She is beautiful. Great Job Angela!

Today Kaylee and I went over to my friend Challae's house. We had a lot of fun together. Challae had her daughter Brinlee 4 days before I had Kaylee, so it is always so fun to get together to see how much our daughters have grown and to share stories. Here are a few pictures of the girls.

It looks like they are both trying to get to their momma.
How cute am I?? :)

Wow! Time has flown. My sweet Kaylee is growing up so fast. I have the hardest time calling Kaylee my baby. She does not seem like a baby to me. She is just my best friend. I love spending time with her everyday. I tell her everything. I read her books and show her how I put on my makeup. She is just soo much fun and gives me the cutest smiles and laughs. I feel so blessed to have her be a part of our family.
This is my attempt at trying to get Kaylee to take a bottle. She played with it for a little bit..but the battle is still going. I am determined to keep trying though.
This is Kaylee's new facial expression. Since she doesn't take a binkie..she now sucks on her tongue. It is soo cute and sooo silly at the same time.

Yesterday was the first time she rolled over for us. It was in S....L....O....W motion. I wish we would have grabbed the camera. But both BJ and I were too busy cheering her and anxiously waiting for her to roll over. I will try to get it recorded, but every time I turn on the camera she just stares on it.
Kaylee is now sleeping in her crib in her very own room and has been for about a week or so. Not going to lie...it was a hard transition for me! I would wake up in the middle of the night and walk...ok I wont lie...RUN in to her room and quietly walk up to her and watch her belly go up and down to reassure me she is still breathing. I know... I know...I am a crazy worried mom. But really if you knew me, I have always been a worry wart so this is not out of the ordinary. Despite the bumpy transition for me; Kaylee's transition has been pretty good. She has been sleeping through the night for over a week now. She sleep for 8 hours every night and then wakes up, eats, and then goes back to bed for another 4 hours. Then she is awake most of the day with a few naps throughout the day. There are a few times however that she wakes up crying because she will wrap her arm or leg around the crib bar and get mad she is stuck. lol I still can't figure out how she gets there though. I swaddle her every night and lie her in the middle of the crib. But every night she wakes up sideways with her hand holding the crib bar. No wonder she has such a huge bald spot on the back of her head. She squirms all around her crib.
I tried to put her in this fun saucer, but as you can see she is way too little still. My sister in-law let us borrow it.

Bridal Shower
Beej & Chris
Nicole is one of my friends from Nursing school. She is amazing! One of the kindest people I have ever met. I am sooo excited for her and her fiance Jeremy to get married. They are such a cute couple.
For the bridal shower we went to Color Me Mine. We each got to paint a plate that Nicole and Jeremy will receive as a gift to use in their kitchen. It was a lot of fun. Here are the finished plates.
