Kaylee and Mommy Date

Beej & Chris

I just love my Kaylee girl and knew I was going to be gone all day long the following Saturday with Connor and my parents up in Idaho, so I decided to take her out on a date just the two of us. I will admit I have those hard mommy days where I just need a break and am frustrated and losing my patience with the kids, so you would think that getting away would be the solution right? Well it is not. Even if it is only for a day or a few hours I still miss my kids terribly. What can I say- I love being their mom even on the hard days :)

As soon as BJ got home from work I printed off a $2 off coupon for Kangaroo Zoo and took Kaylee out for our "mommy daughter date". Kangaroo Zoo is 5 minutes away from my house. 2 years and younger cost $5 so with the $2 off- it only cost $3 (not to mention I was free since I was just watching)! For those of you that don't know- Kangaroo Zoo is an indoor activity area that is filled with bounce houses and slides. This was my first time going there but Kaylee had so much fun, we just might have to go again.

This just cracked me up. Kaylee found a little table with 5 chairs that she would carry over and make a line and then would bring them all back to the table.

This is a good picture of the room. It is filled with fun things to play. Kaylee was in heaven. She would just run from slide to slide and kept looking back at me as if to say, "Is this ok? I can really just play on all of this!?" I loved it. I let her go and do whatever her little hear desired.

She was so brave and would climb up and go down all the slides she could.

Kaylee could go on almost all of the slides except for one. The place where you grab onto to climb up was a little to high for her. But she wanted soo badly to go on this slide. She tried and tried and tried. I kept telling her, "It's ok Kaylee. This one is a little big for you. How about we go try another one." She would walk away but then go right back and try again. She finally walked back and literally threw her socks off and RAN to the slide and tried one last time to climb it, and guess what.....

She did it! I seriously was sooo proud of Kaylee. She has so much drive and determination. She won't let anything stop her from accomplishing what she sets out to do. She had this same determination as she learned to play with lego's just after a year old, or as she just recently learned how to put on her shoes by herself. She will get frustrated but try and try and try again until she figures it out! Way to go Kaylee!

After a good workout from Kangaroo Zoo, we headed over to the Pizza Factory for some yummy dinner. When I went up to the front counter and they asked, how many? I just smiled and said, "Just the two of us." Kaylee then cuddled up to me while we waited for them to call us back. SO fun!

Yummy!

Dinosaur pizza!
Kaylee did awesome. She was pretty tired by the end and we couldn't get our waiter to come help us get out of there so that was hard, but once I got another waiter to get my a to-go-box and paid up at the front.... all was well. I can't wait till we have another Kaylee mommy date night!

Life with a big sister

Beej & Chris

Having a big sister can be lots of fun!

She makes me laugh....

And puts her arm around me when I am sad...

She loves to be wherever I am...

And gives me lots and lots of kisses.....

She even helps teach me how to roll over.....

Yeah being a little brother can be a lot of fun. However it can also have its challenges as well......

Conference weekend

Beej & Chris

Conference weekend is always a lot of fun. I look forward to Conference every 6 months. I love the spiritual high you get after listening to the apostles and the Prophet speak to you.

Well after the Saturday afternoon session while the men go to the Priesthood session; I usually go with my mom to Layton Hills Mall where we go to Deseret book, drop my ring off to be cleaned, and then wander around the mall before we head off to get dinner.

I wanted to go exchange some shoes from JcPenney so I left Kaylee and Connor with my mom for a bit. This is how I left them....

Kaylee is having fun playing...

Connor is smiling away....
But when I got back my mom had Kaylee in one arm with Connor screaming in her other arm. I quickly took him into the bathroom nearby and fed him while my mom changed changed Kaylee's diaper. I felt bad that the kids gave her a hard time but was super impressed with how she handled it. She must have raised kids on her own or something. She was calm as can be holding both kids and just did what she could. Thanks again mom!

After the mall we headed to Walmart to do some grocery shopping. We thought it was going to be a quick trip. We split up the list and my mom took Kaylee and I took Connor. By the end Connor was crying because he was tired and Kaylee was crying because she was tired and hungry...ha ha I think we decided next time we are not going to add grocery shopping to our girls night out.

For dinner we decided on Red Robin. We used to split up girls and guys but the last few years we have saved seats for the guys and ate with them.

Fire Station open House

Beej & Chris

My sister in law Kierston invited us to go with them to the Layton's Fire Station Open House a few weeks ago. It was a lot of fun.
This is my brother Johnathon and his son Logan. My brother is studying right now to be a fire fighter and is getting pretty close to finishing! I am SO excited for him!

Yep- Kaylee loves her stickers!

Connor in his cute sunglasses. Didn't you know- this is the "Cool" way to wear them.

Kierston and Brooklyn

Connor sleeping in mommy's arms

BJ was still at work when we left but my mom and dad came and helped me out with the kids. It was nice as always to see them!

Yummy hot dog!

I'm not going to take the time to organize all of these fire photo's so they are going to be out of order.
This was my favorite part of the open house. They had two of these set ups; one they started the fire and let us see how fast the fire grows and then the other one had a built in sprinkler alarm system that stopped the fire from growing before it could get really big.

This was seriously in a matter of minutes it was so cool to watch.

I'm not going to lie I almost started crying when the fire fighters came out in their uniform and watered the fire out. I was just filled with such gratitude for their job and all they do for us. I am just so excited for my brother to finish his school and be a fire fighter. Shout out to all those fire fighters out there!

STOP, DROP, And ROll

We were all standing fairly close to the helicopter as it flew back to the hospital and man did that wind catch me off guard. lol It's a good thing I was somewhat far away and had Connor facing the opposite direction. ha ha
Thanks for the awesome pictures mom!
