Affleck Park - Tenney campout

BJ

My family (BJ) decided to do a July family campout.  I'm usually the one who pushes for doing a family campout.  I love getting together with others in an environment that is different and where we can leave our electronics and some of our cares behind.  Anyway, things have a been a bit hectic for my parents and one of my sisters lately, so we decided to stay close by for our campout.  We went to a place called Affleck Park that's about a 25 minute drive from Woods Cross.  Christie and I went there last year with the kids after I took the scouts up there.

We setup camp when we arrived and got a fire going.  JC and Anya came for the evening with Light.  Everyone else in the pictures stayed the night.

I setup my hammock for the kids to play on which ended up being quite the hit.  Elisa ended up trying to sleep in the hammock, but if you don't sleep on your back that well then a hammock isn't really too friendly as she discovered!

JQ's kids had never been tent camping before.  I think she had fun, but isn't really looking to go camping again anytime soon!

We took the kids on a little hike to see the beaver dams.  It's really amazing what beaver's can do.

Light definitely enjoyed his marshmallow!

We tried out ice cream cone smores!

Christie was taking her morning nap!

Beej & Chris

Told BJ nothing fit, but the maternity clothes were too big. I was getting so frustrated and decided to just "try" some maternity clothes. They were soooo comfortable. I bought the maternity capri's/pants for now. I will have to buy some more here soon- but for now this will keep me comfortable for a bit.

I'm feeling a lot less sick these days and am starting to gain more energy which is nice.
Still craving a lot of foods! My friend Ashley recommended this Ben & Jerry's Phish Food and it was delicious!

BJ's work party at Boondocks

Beej & Chris

We (the kids and I) were pretty excited for daddy's annual work party at Boondocks this year. It is a lot of fun.
They start out the party with feeding everyone and then giving each person 20 tokens to use on the arcade games.
BJ started out by going on the go-carts with Kaylee (Connor was too short to ride)
So, while we waited we took silly "selfies"
I told Connor "Make a silly face" and this is what he did. He just laughed and laughed thinking he was hilarious
The kids each loved using their tokens and getting tickets!

Mom (I) even found my favorite stacker game! Daddy isn't a huge fan of arcade games so he let me indulge in some of my favorites. Yes, I know I am a little kid still ;)

The kids are usually exhausted by the end so we head out early. This time I prepared and put both kids down for naps ahead of time. Needless to say, we got to stay and play a round of mini golf.
The kids would each play around and then while they were "playing" on the next hole, BJ and I would be playing our own game.
The kids had soo much fun. They could have played golf all day long. BJ even gave Kaylee a little lesson on how to hit the ball. By the end they were hitting the ball pretty good, but would still get lazy and carry the ball into the hole sometimes ha ha

At the very end of the miniature golf you had to put your ball into this giant head. If you got a hole in one then the "head" would shoot fire, and if you missed then it would shoot water at you. Everytime it shot fire it scared the kids. They begged mom and dad to put the balls in the "head" so they could hide. They weren't petrified, they just got startled every time the fire came out because it was such a surprise.

BJ and I "Tied"....but since BJ got a hole in one at the last hole and I just hit the ball in BJ will tell you he won ;)
Kaylee and Connor each got one 150 ticket price. Connor got a toy sword, and Kaylee got a toy that makes cool designs when it is moved around. I don't know how better to explain it, but we all thought it was pretty cool.

We had so much fun this year. The kids were great! They got so excited with each game. It was a lot of fun.

Ogden Horse Parade

Beej & Chris

JQ invited us to go to the Ogden horse parade with them this year. We had never been before, or even heard about it. Not a ton of people come to the parade helping to keep it not crowded and a lot of fun.

Elisa came with JQ and her kids

The whole parade is horses and hitches, and the kids loved it!
A few people on horses even threw candy out to the kids

 I loved these horses!
Here is another look, they were beautiful.
Kaylee and I went on an adventure to find a bathroom. She found this statue and wanted to get a picture

After we got a picture with the boy on the bicycle, she wanted a picture with the dog ha ha
I asked Connor to stop moving so I could get a picture of him
and afterwards, he wanted to take a picture of me since I took a picture of him ha ha. Dad was with Kaylee finding JQ or else he would have joined in on this picture takin' business.

The parade wasn't too short, but it wasn't long either. It was a nice relaxing parade on a FHE night. Thanks for inviting us JQ!

Pink eye/Pregnancy Cravings

Beej & Chris

This pregnancy I have had a TON of cravings. I started the pregnancy craving peperoncini peppers and now I am all over the place. The other day I went to get a prescription for Connor and started craving V8 and ice cream! LOL So that is what we bought. I drank the V8 on the way home and ate some of the ice cream that night. It was delish!

On Saturday Connor came down with Pink eye. He was such a good sport. We headed to the doctors and got his prescription for eye drops. On our way to pick them up he said "We go get eyeballs to put in my eye and then we go to bed?"  ha ha- yep, lets put the eyeballs in your eye Connor LOL Of course he meant EYE DROPS. He also told me "I LOVE the doctors". I asked him if he wanted to be a doctor when he grew up and he of course replied with a firm "YEP".

Drive Inn Movie

Beej & Chris

The following picture is so funny to me. I laughed so hard when I saw how totally out Kaylee was in the backseat. My neighbor and I had taken a basket of goodies to one of the sisters I visit teach (she had her baby early and her baby was in the NICU) to the IMC in Murray. We had just recently changed Kaylee from her old car seat to this booster seat with the back attached. One day she had cried and cried saying how much she misses her car seat (we gave it to Aunt JQ) and asked when she can have it back. She used to take amazing naps in the old car seat on small road trips. She would say "I am going to take a nap mom, wake me up when we get there" and she would! After we got the booster she hadn't been able to take a nap in the car....until now! :D
Since we didn't have plans on Friday night and saw that the kids got in FREE to the Drive- INN (4 and under are free) we decided to make some popcorn and head out!

Don't worry- I had my party pants on ;D
We got stopped by someone as we were pulling into the Drive Inn spot telling us our tire was flat. That definitely put a damper on the evening, but we eventually stopped worrying (me especially) about it and enjoyed the rest of the night. It wasn't totally flat so we drove to the gas station nearby and filled it up and got new tires in the car the next day.
BJ got all the popcorn ready for our P.A.R.T.Y

I hung out with the kids in the back of the comfy car
BJ sat in the comfy lawn chair to watch the movie. We switched later on so he could help get the kids to sleep. I was lame and this blurry head shot is the only picture I got of BJ there ;(

We had a good time. The first movie was 'How to Train a Dragon 2' which we had already seen- but the kids enjoyed it a second time. The second movie started at just after 1130 pm and was 'Maleficent'. Both kids were determined and stayed up to watch the very beginning of Maleficent....and then they along with me fell asleep. BJ watched the second movie all by himself lol (I think he had an idea that might happen ha ha). But for 7.50 for two movies, I think we will be going again!
