Christmas Time

Beej & Chris

I love Christmas time! I love spending time with family, watching christmas specials on tv, putting up decorations, family christmas parties, and the amazing spirit I feel as I read the true story of christmas in the scriptures.

This was our first year putting up lights on the house, cause this was the first year we have had a house :)
Here are a few pictures of the adventure!

Our decorated christmas tree! Every year we either make or buy an ornament that represents a big event in the year. This year we used a present I got from my friend Ashley and made it into an ornament (it was a nurse) since I graduated! last year was a a painted U to represent BJ's graduation. Next year will be a baby for our new arrival :)

I made this at a parker craft day- I know tomorrow is christmas eve. This picture was taken the day we decorated the tree.

Thanksgiving

Beej & Chris

I know this is late, but I wanted to do a post about thanksgiving.

BJ and I went to my grandma and grandpa scott's house in Idaho this year. We went up the night

before thanksgiving so we could help prepare dinner. My grandma scott is an AMAZING cook, and I am always trying to get tips from her. She had already made over 150 rolls the night before (which were yummy). So we made some pumpkin pies together, prepared some salads and played games. We had a lot of fun together!

HAPPY 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Beej & Chris

Can you believe it! BJ and I have been married for 2 years now. So much has happened in this past two years we can't believe it.
- We went to Italy and Switzerland to visit BJ's mission area
- Bought a house
- Took a trip to New Orleans for the BCS sugar bowl
- Are expecting our first child
- Traveled to Atlanta Georgia
- BJ graduated with his bachelors in computer science
- Christie graduated with her associates in science (RN)

But most importantly in these past two years BJ and I have grown togther, stregthened one another, and increased our love and respect for one another.

I feel so blessed to have married such a wonderful man. This past week especially I have noticed how patient BJ truly is. When a car cuts in front of him or an angry person at the grocery store is rude to him, he just smiles and brushes it off like nothing happened. He has such christ-like qualities embeded in him that I admire so much. I am learning from him everyday, and know that he is going to be a great dad for this baby girl we are expecting in February. Thanks Babe for the past two years! You continue to amaze me everyday! LOVE YOU

Here are a few pictures of our celebration. We went to the anniversary Inn up in Logan. We started a tradition that we have really enjoyed these past two years. Every anniversary we make each other gifts instead of buying them. It is a lot of fun and means so much more than just buying something. These are the gifts we made for each other this year...

10 more weeks to go....

Beej & Chris

10 more weeks to go! I can't believe it. Time has flown by with the holidays coming up and school keeping me busy. I am sure these next few weeks wont go by as quickly..but I can only hope :)
A lot has happened over the past couple months. I am going to try to just re-cap a few of the important events for ya so you don't get too bored reading all of this.
As far as the pregnancy goes, I am doing great! I feel very blessed. The baby is definitely growing and she really likes to kick and move around a lot, which I really enjoy EXCEPT when I am taking a test for school...then it becomes a little distracting. :) BJ has been able to see and feel her move a lot these past couple days. My favorite was when he got to feel the baby having the hiccups.
The nursery is coming along. We still have a few things to do and when it is completely done or at least pretty darn close, then I will post pictures.

Graduation

Beej & Chris

I am done! School is finally over! You are now looking at a new Registered Nurse! Woot Woot! Wow, I can't believe that BJ and I have been married for two years now and a year in a half of it I was in the nursing program.

When I first started the program I never thought this day would happen. I spend a few nights frustrated, stressed, and feeling overwhelmed. BJ would find me crying and upset saying "I don't think I can do this." He would hug me and continue to encourage me and tell me that I could do it. That I could do whatever I set my mind to do.
My parents were supportive throughout the whole program. The would call or text and ask me how my tests went. They were there listening to me complain about how much work the program was, and would smile and help me find the positive through it all.
I gained confidence, made some amazing friends, and found out that I can do anything I set my mind to. I have wanted to be a nurse ever since I can remember, and my dream has finally come true.

I am currently working as a LPN doing homehealth and will continue to work there when I pass the NCLEX and get my official RN license. It has been an adventure but well worth all the hard work. I definitely could not have done this without BJ, my new nursing school friends, and my family. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

Temple and embarassing story...

Beej & Chris

I LOVE the temple. I love the comfort you feel after you have gone to the temple and the peace it brings into your life. BJ and I have made a goal to go to the temple once a week. Not going to lie, sometimes it is really hard to take the time out to go and BJ is usually the one who sets the example and helps us get there. Sometimes the week is super busy and we dont have time for a session so we will just do some initiatories. Well last week we did initiatories and one of the workers smiled at me and said, "when are you due?". I don't know why but it made me sooo happy! When BJ and I were walking to the car I said to him, "BJ- they noticed. I didn't even know you could tell with the temple clothes. But someone noticed I was pregnant!" Today I went by myself because BJ had already gone with the YM for baptism's for the dead earlier in the week; and another worker said, "When is your little baby going to come?" YEP same joy! I know this is silly but I really wanted to remember this feeling and this experience. Sometimes pregnancy is hard with the emotions, having to pee all the time, the heart burn, and the lower back pain; so simple things like this just make me smile :D

OK- now for the embarassing story. I just started working as a LPN at a homehealth agency and when I was training I got stuck with a needle. I decided to call my manager and find out the protcol of what my next step was. My manager's name is Cassie. After getting the courage up to call, I dial Cassie's number. Here is how the conversation went....

Me: Hey, is this Cassie?
Cassie: Ya. How is it going Christie?
Me: I am good. I just wanted to let you know that today while I was at so and so's house I got stuck with a needle and wanted to know what the protocol was. If I needed to fill out an incident report. I have a doctor's appointment in a few days so I can just get tested then. I wasn't sure who to tell, so I thought I would call you.
Cassie: oh no. Are you ok? Who did you go see? Do you need me to do something?
Me: I am fine. I am not worried. I just wanted to make sure I completed the paperwork and followed the companies policy.
Cassie: Ok..Umm what can I do for you. Do you need a ride? Are you ok?
Me: umm...who is this?
Cassie: This is Cassie your visiting teaching partner! Are you ok?
Me: (wanting to just hang up the phone with embarassment) I am fine. I umm called the wrong Cassie.

OH Man. I know this probably doesn't sound that embarassing to you. But it was probably one of my most embarassing stories and BJ told me I needed to document it so here it is. Poor Cassie was so concerned. She was like, "why are you telling ME this". LOL! It is funny now but it definitely was not then.
