9 months

Beej & Chris

I am really slow...but Kaylee had her 9 month doctors appointment 12-9-2010 (so just over 2 weeks from when she actually turned 9 months).

Here are her stats...

Weight: 19 lbs 13 ounces........ 65%

Length: 29 inches...................93%

Head: 17.75 inches................ 75%

The doctor said she is staying really consistent. Kaylee is still tall and at a good weight. She got her first flu shot and last hepatitis B vaccine. Of course she cried when she got poked but after as she was snuggling with me. I told her..the nurse is still your friend. She is nice, say "bye". And she smiled at the nurse and half cried half laughed. It was so cute. What a trooper. She didn't need any Tylenol or anything after either. What a tough cookie. ;)

Kaylee is still walking like crazy. She was playing at the doctors office when the doctor came in and she said, "oh- she is pulling herself up now." ha ha I said, "no- she has been walking for a bout a month. Then on cue- Kaylee walked over to the doctor. So cute.
She also tried to copy noises and has started getting her groove on when she hears music. She will shake her head, wave bye bye, and eats a lot of people food. We love our Kaylee girl!

Emotions

Beej & Chris

Some days I feel like I accomplished a lot. It makes me feel good. This morning I read Kaylee a story and kissed my hand to blow her a kiss and she put her little hand up to her face and kissed it back to me. My heart just melted. Moments like that make me realize how blessed I am to be a mom and what a blessing it is to be home with Kaylee everyday.

And then I have days or moments where I get nothing done. I am lazy and sit around reading or getting on the computer all day. And BJ comes home and nothing sounds good to me so dinner is not made. He comes home and makes dinner and does everything. I feel horrible about myself.

I really enjoy the time I have with Kaylee everyday. I am grateful for my home health job so I can work a few hours a week while still being able to stay home with Kaylee. But I worry. I worry that I am losing all that I learned in school. I worry that I will never get to work in a hospital because I wont be able to remember the things I need to in order to do that.

I am so excited to have another baby. Last night I was feeling down and Kaylee just cuddled right up next to me and gave me the biggest hug for like 5 minutes. I just started to tear up. I love her so much. I can't wait to have another baby to love and who will love me that much. But I am nervous. Those first few weeks right after having a baby are rough. My emotions are all over the place. How will I do it with two.

Sometimes I feel like I am working hard at being a good friend to someone and they don't reciprocate. I feel like I may think of them more than they think of me. I am sure they don't mean to. And I am sure I have done that to friends as well without realizing it. I just feel like sometimes everyone is just so busy.

I know this is all the hormones and emotions from pregnancy talking but I just needed to write it down so I can hopefully feel better.

I know that I am beyond blessed and I just need to focus on the positive. I watched the movie "ELF" last night. I wish I was like that all the time. He doesn't care what anybody thinks of him. He smiles because he likes smiling. And he just enjoys everyday like it is his last. I think I just needed that reminder.

Little....BIG sister!

Beej & Chris

I can't hold the news any longer! Kaylee is going to be a BIG sister June 24th!!
We have already had three doctors appointments and it is confirmed that we are truly errr I am truly pregnant and this little baby inside of my is growing like a charm and has a strong heart beat. We couldn't be more excited.
Kaylee and this new baby will be 16 months apart. Yes it will be a lot of work- but how fun to have a sibling so close in age. I can't wait. Kaylee LOVES to play with other kids and is going to be the cutest big sister ever.
This pregnancy has been a lot different than with Kaylee that is for sure. I was super sick for a few weeks and nothing was helping. Thankfully that passed and I only get sick if I dont eat or am really tired. I was throwing up every day for awhile-but that has passed as well. :) I am however exhausted but the good thing about having babies close together is I get a nap everyday. Kaylee takes two long naps so I join her in one of those. Pure Bliss! Yes I know I wont be getting much sleep later on-but we wont talk about that- for now I will just enjoy this.
Oh and we are looking for a new OBGYN so if you have any recommendations of good ones or even bad ones....let us know!

BEST day EVER

Beej & Chris

Kaylee slept in till 9 am
We both ate breakfast together
I got in my swimming suit and got in the bath with Kaylee to play.
I fed Kaylee lunch

Kaylee and I cuddled up in a blanket and watched some TV while Kaylee ate her bottle and then slowly started leaning on my left arm for a good hour. I then put her in her crib to finish her nap off. While I took a nap as well :)

We danced and played pass with the ball. Every time she would pass it I would say "YAY" and clap. She would then clap as well and smile so big.

Kaylee went down for her second nap

I started reading Harry Potter book #2 and then cleaned up the house a bit

BJ got home and we both got all our snow gear on and headed out to play in the snow. We made a snowman together!

Went to Tithing settlement

Ate dinner as a family

What a wonderful night!!!

Thanksgiving 2010

Beej & Chris

We spent Thanksgiving at BJ's parents house this year. Here is the table all set up and ready!

Poor Kaylee has bright red cheeks d/t a fever. She wasnt feeling that well and ended up feeling worse and worse as the night went on. She is getting her front teeth in now- making a total of 6 teeth at 9 months. We think she is getting some more in the back because she keeps bitting on her finger back there. And d/t the teething and not feeling good she has had diarrhea and now has her very first diaper rash. :( so sad. But on a good note- she loved the sweet and mashed potatoes!!

L-R (Anya, Ryan, Tiffany, Elisa, me, JQ's hand and Aiden)

Adam, JQ and Alana
now you can see spencer and JC as well.
Spencer and BJ's dad (Papa Bruce)
The only one we are missing is Grandma Sherry...she was taking all the pictures and cooking :)

We had a lot of yummy food; including a deep fried Turkey. I definitely ate more than I have for a long time. We took time to all tell what we are thankful for. But I wanted to go into a little more depth on here.
I can't even express how grateful I am for BJ. He is such an amazing father to Kaylee and such a supportive and romantic husband. I don't even want to think how my life would be without him. I feel very blessed to have him by my side forever.
Kaylee is the joy in both mine and BJ's lives. She is so fun and crazy and has the cutest personality. There is not one day that goes by that we don't smile or laugh at something she does. She is going to be a great big sister in June.
BJ and I have amazing jobs and a warm place to sleep. We have wonderful families and friends. Life is just good!

Okay quick story about BLACK FRIDAY
I LOVE going shopping on Black Friday. I seriously get a rush as the line starts to go in the store and everyone is running around like crazy. This year since Kaylee wasn't feeling very good. BJ and I tag teamed it. He went to Walmart to get DVDs at midnight. The DVDs were in the frozen section of the store. ha ha people were throwing DVDs and acting like it was the end of the world if they didn't get the DVD that they wanted. Man I wish I could have seen that!
I woke up at 4:30 am and headed to Kmart to get some buy one free toys for Kaylee and some boots for me. I headed straight for the toys first. I was the first one to find them and quickly started to choose which ones I wanted. I started to see people coming so I just started grabbing some. I then realized they weren't there to get those toys and then put them back and took my time deciding which ones. :)
Time to get the boots. I didn't think it would be a big fight to get the boots...but I was wrong. I got back there and finally found the boots which were all picked over. I found a size 7 and decided to try it on. I could always bring it back to get a 7 1/2 or 8 right? As I had put the boot on I realized there was only one there. While I was looking for the other boot I heard a lady trying to find it as well. Well I wanted these boots so I kind of stepped in another isle hoping she would drop her boot and run so I could have it. ha ha (I know I am crazy). Well she didn't...so I started looking around and ended up finding my size. So I sneakily put the boot back and tried on my size 8. Didn't like them. ha ha So I headed to the checkout to pay for the toys. I was in and out of the store in 20 minutes. I then went home and took a nap while BJ did some shopping for me. I had a few work visits and then we both stopped at Jcpenny's before heading to Idaho.
We were both exhausted but excited about the great deals we got. We then headed up to Idaho to see my Grandparents and my parents and little bro who was up there. We had some yummy leftovers and visited with my grandparents for awhile.
It was a great Thanksgiving. The only thing that would have made it better is if we were able so see BJ's mom from Oklahoma as well. :)

Cub Scout Pow Wow

Beej & Chris

A few weeks ago I went to Pow Wow for Cub Scouts. Pow wow is like a meeting for all Cub Scout leaders to help you get more ideas on what to do and get pumped up for Cub Scouts.

There was a lot of different classes. Some fun and some boring. But the one that I will always remember is the Skits and Storytelling class.

We got put into groups of 5 and had 5 minutes to come up with a skit and then we were to perform it in front of everyone. (Cub scouts do skits and jokes every month so I thought this would be helpful). Well- my group was crazy. They had so many ideas and even made themselves props in that 5 minutes. The point of the skit was to come up with a core value to teach the kids. So not just a skit for fun..but one that would teach something.

Here is the skit/story we came up with. There was a Chief and his wife who send a little Indian to become an Indian brave (that was me). The Indian had to climb a mountain to become a brave.

I said my goodbyes to the Chief and my mom and headed to the mountain. There was a girl that put a sign on her that said Mountain. She crouched down so I could step over her or "climb over the mountain". But before I could do that. There was a snake. The snake was this crazy late 30 year old woman that was very into acting. She slithered and hissed at me and begged me to put me in my pocket and take her up the mountain with me. She promised that she wouldn't hurt me so I let her come in my pocket. She then put both of her hands and leaned into my jacket pocket. ha ha. I was a little taken back. She was really getting into this. :)

I then climbed the mountain and after the snake was supposed to bite me. I was then going to say "you promised you wouldn't hurt me" and she was going to say "you knew what I was when you put me in your pocket". But instead after I climbed the mountain she jumped up and bite my right arm. SHE ACTUALLY BIT my right arm. I jumped so high and YELLED " SHE BITE me...NO- she Really Bit me!!!!" I couldn't focus. I couldn't remember what I was supposed to say. Finally we ended up finishing the skit. One of my friends was in the class and she said "wow- you are really good at acting." I told her that I was not acting. She actually did bite my arm. Luckily I had my jacket on because even with the sleeves on I still had a red bite mark on my right forearm. She totally would have broke skin if I would have had my jacket sleeve up.

As we were walking back to our seats the lady who was the snake said "sorry about that. You didn't realize you needed to get your shots first huh. I just got excited"

I still can't believe it when I think about it. CRAZY day and one that I will never forget! ha ha

Crazy Dreams

Beej & Chris

I always dream and remember at least one of them every night. My dreams are very detailed but totally CRAZY. I am always telling BJ my dreams in the morning. He will say things like "wow- I wish I could have seen that in a movie" or "I am glad I don't remember my dreams like you because some of yours freak me out".

I had a dream last week that I was pregnant and ended up having the cutest little black baby boy. BJ and I had this big discussion on how it is totally possible. But seriously- he was so cute!

Last night I dreamt that I took BJ snowboarding for the 1st time. We got there and instead of snowboards- there was a huge crowd of people on bikes. So I quickly helped BJ get on a bike. He was freaking out...saying "I can't do this" as he was on the top of a steep snow hill ready to go down on a bike! I quickly taught him how to stop by putting the bike sideways- like a snowboard...cause it is definitely the same thing. He hesitantly agreed to go.

As he was going down I found some of our neighbors Michael and Jamie Scott. They were there snowboarding and thought we were crazy and didn't even acknowledge us. As I heard a ton of people cheering as people were running around the corner. I quickly asked someone in the crowd how long this was going to be. They smiled and said 36 miles. I went down and started cheering for BJ as he came around the bend and was running down the stairs (apparently stairs now appeared). I yelled "good job babe. And it is 36 miles...sorry" ha ha ha

BJ gave me this funniest face of terror and kept running. He was talking with a friend that he made on his journey. While he ran 36 miles- I went shopping with my mom. I found my aunt Michelle Parker who was bragging how she was going to get the same black Friday deals on the 30th of November at Best Buy because her husband works there. She said "we get the left overs of black Friday". Once she realized that her face was all sad.

I then finished shopping with my mom..except that I lost her. Don't worry I found her at the check out. And that is the end
